Source: Redskins get No. 2 pick

In a pre-draft blockbuster trade, the Rams have agreed in principle to send the second overall pick to the Redskins for three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick as well.

In a pre-draft blockbuster trade, the St. Louis Rams have agreed in principle to send the second overall pick in this year's draft to the Washington Redskins for three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick, according to a source in Cleveland familiar with the terms of the deal.

The trade, first reported by FoxSports.com, cannot be signed off on, turned in and processed until the new league year starts Tuesday at 4 p.m. EST, but it is expected to become official then.

In the deal, the Rams will receive the Redskins' first-round pick each of the next three years, plus Washington's second-round pick this year in return for the second overall pick that the Redskins now will use on whichever quarterback the Indianapolis Colts do not draft No. 1 overall.

      Wow 3 number 1's and a 2nd. That's a heavy price to pay.

The Dolphins would be wise to offer Peyton Manning more money, because their Plan B has now evaporated.

I wonder who they will draft.

I'm thinking the Rams dont care if they get Kalil, Blackmon, or Martin.

It is a great trade for the Redskins if Griffin turns into the kind of special player he was in college.

But if Griffin turns out to be just a good QB, it isn't worth it. He has to be a top-10 QB.

I'll say this, I'd rather my team gamble to get greatness than wallow in mediocrity. All those draft picks won't mean diddly to Washington if they don't find their QB, so that price was worth paying for the chance to get one.

The Rams only fall to 6th with the trade...

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see them at least try to trade down again... They can use help pretty much everywhere. Bradford and Jackson are about all that team has.

It is a great trade for the Rams no matter what. They already have their long-term QB. Now they need to use those picks to build a decent team around him.

Skins D is ****ing old, no real weapons on offense, OL is complete dog **** (Trent Williams is the next Mike Williams).

I expect them to go wild in FA, only way to piece a team together.

Chris Long and James Laurinaitis may disagree with you.

Hence the reason I said about all they have.

Point is, damn near every position on the field, the Rams have a hole at. They could certainly use the picks.

                          Bitter sweet.

                          They'll spend in FA though.

I agree it was a great trade for the Rams. Yet I think people fail to see that the Rams did have some pieces outside of Bradford and just pointing some of them out.

It was well worth the price IF RGIII becomes an Elite QB. But if he does not look like one by his 2nd year, I will bet anything Danny fires Shannahan & the Skins will be set back years.
