All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Bills to take cap space from Cowboys AND Redskins.
Re: Bills to take cap space from Cowboys AND Redskins.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefterAll that money goes to 28 other teams -- $1.6 million each -- except for Saints and Raiders, who don't get any but don't lose any.
Cowboys lose $10 million in cap space, Redskins lose $36 million in space. Can split it over 2012 and 2013 any way they want. More at ESPN.
NFL is taking away millions of dolllar of salary-cap space from Cowboys and Redskins for how they front-loaded deals during uncapped year.

Redskins just gave up major draft clout and now have to give up major FA clout
If I'm RG3 I'm loathing life, and might think of telling Washington to not draft me
The teams can divide the cap losses between 2012 and 2013 in any portion they want. As of Sunday, the Redskins more than $30 million in cap space in 2012 / The Cowboys had less than $5 million.

How can you skirt the cap in an uncapped year?
Teams were told not to front load contracts to take advantage of the uncapped year in attempts to fix salary cap problems in the subsequent years or there would be penalties.
Dallas and Washington did that. I admit I was confused on how Wash ended up with so much cap space this year
