Smith was the best DE of his day but one could argue that Reggie White was better, one could argue Mario is in the top 3 discussion of his day. It's not unfair to compare them in that sense.

why the hell would you want to get rid of kelsay if mario arrives?!!? kelsay would play lde and be great at that. hes essentially phil hansen and he would FINALLY have the equivalent of bruce/ted/sam/pat/etc to line up with. he would be ideal for that role at a great price (3.5m). if he wants to make a deal for the number fine but hes been a good pro here and shouldnt have to if he dont wanna

No he hasn't played at a PB level but he has been a Bill for a long time, maybe the longest on the team, and has always had that number.

Its not as cut and dry as people are making it out to be.

And Kelsay is no Phil Hansen either.

I'll preface this by stating that I desperately want the Bills to sign Williams. That stated, he has had double digit sacks in two out of six seasons. So, I'll stand by my original statement that comparing Williams to Smith (a first ballot HOFer) is a bit much.
