Even if he does want to visit other teams too, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want to be here or is just using the team. The Bills are obviously in the mix and have as good a chance as anyone. If he doesn't sign today though don't go killing yourself. It's not unreasonable for the top free agent on the market to have the chance to evaluate all his options. Him still being here and his fiance coming here are all positive signs that the Bills are a legit candidate. And we couldn't have really hoped for or expected much more.

If Mario signs with the Buffalo, he will be the best football player on this team. I'd say that is not the norm. People often use Reggie White as an example. But Reggie White was not the reason Packers being the winning team. Favre was.

I'm a firm believer that the best player(s0 should be those the team develops. At that point, you attract a couple of important pieces -- key pieces -- to complete the roster. I don't think the Bills are at that stage.

That does not mean I don't applaud Nix pursuing Mario full court. But it is hard to get guys like Mario to accept to be a Bill, everything being equal. I'll put it this way. Had Bills signed up Peyton Manning yesterday and still waving that kind of cash in front of Mario, A press conference would've been called already.

To this Nix regime, it is the 3rd year in his regime and there is some urgency to show "the baby" or sign of the "the baby" coming along. Also it is not often a guy of Mario's calibre becomes available at his prime while a lot of the big boys in the market are facing cap problems.
