I'm assuming they're going off of PFT's post which says he's scheduled to leave tonight, just as LaCanfora tweeted a bit ago. Doesn't mean he's actually going to leave without a deal.

Thats why realists never get their hopes up.

Besides money, why would he want to come to Buffalo when someone else will pay him just as much.

once he signs the deal

You all are ******s. LaCanfora already posted this earlier. He is SCHEDULED to leave tonight for another visit - assuming he doesn't sign a deal.

This is from a PFT report, which that alone makes it somewhat less than trustworthy.

Did anyone think he was going to stay for a third day?

I just get the feeling that if he were to sign, he would have done it by now. Other teams got their free agents signed in a couple of hours. He's been in Buffalo for over 24.

I'm so sick of the muppet and PFT.

"PFT just tweeted this!" "John Clayton tweets that Mario Williams is 'locked up' at Bills headquarters"

Until a deal is done and I get a VText, I'm not visiting the board...

... That being said I'll still be hitting refresh every 10 minutes.

Ed
03-14-2012, 05:18 PM
Well if he does leave what's he going to do, just sit around twiddling his thumbs? Maybe other visits aren't scheduled yet, but if they decide to leave without a contract then that's the first thing his agent is going to do. And those other teams will gladly welcome him.

I wish this would just get done. I'm leaving for Puerto Rico tonight and a Mario Williams signing before my flight would be a pretty sweet way to start my vacation.

I feel like if he weren't going to, or at least didn't have some desire to, he would have left.

He wouldn't have brought up his fiancee to tour the area. That isn't even close to standard for FA visits.

If it wasn't appealing, they would have skipped town yesterday.

If Bell leaves and they sign Mario, top needs are OLB and OT.

Solid WRs should be available 2-5.

Yes but WR is an impact position. Floyd is the only WR i want in the draft, and OT can be found in the 2nd and 3rd along with OT. We need an impact WR and a solid OLB and OT. I think you can find a solid OT in round 2 and like Sheppard get a OLB in round 3

I heard a theory that may explain the delay. The Titans were one of the teams rumored to have interest in Williams, but they are meeting with Manning today. They have money to spend, but if they give Manning a big contract they won't be able to afford Williams. If not, they will be able to throw a big wad of cash at him.

It could be Williams is holding out to see what Manning is going to do, and if they don't get Manning he will see what they have to offer. If not, he signs with Buffalo.

Don't know how true that is, but it doesn't make sense for Williams to wait hang around so long and not sign.

Here is what I think Mario is doing, his agent is contecting with other teams to better their offer. But when a team signs Peyton Manning the other teams would come in 2 play when they lost their shot with Manning. I think this is why everything is taking so long. When he leave's or Peyton signs with a team and a team out of Manning but goes 2 Mario. Then the Bill's are out but rite now ahead big time. This could go on until next week i'm hoping it ends today.

That is logical.

However, why would he hang around Buffalo and specifically at OBD to wait for the Titans. He must be ironing out details with the Bills.

He's been here over 24 hours, he ate several meals, he picked up his wife from the airport, they toured the city with other Bills and their wives.

What's next? He gonna share a bunk bed with Nix and Gailey and have pillow fights. I really can't see how he will extract himself from all this and go sign somewhere else. It would be a jerk move IMO.

I think Manning being from Tennessee college, and the weather being nice, and the money Tennessee has makes Manning go there. But i dont see Williams bringing his fiance for just a visit

I agree but you don't just sit around OBD playing pool waiting for your agent to call you and tell you its a go with another team.

If he's done negotiating with Buffalo he would be gone. He MUST be working on details of a contract.

I honestly believe his wife wanted to see the propertys around where they would have a house, and thats whats stalling. I think there on a tour right now with her. Also, its approaching dinner time. Mario is probably eating with our staff, again.

Solid WRs come out of every round. The game is won and lost in the trenches. I know WR is an impact position, but I don't think spending the #10 pick on a #2 WR is a great idea. Yeah, he's the only one you want, but he definitely isn't the only WR on their board.

I'm not exactly thrilled with taking a 1st round OT either, but if they land Williams and Bell walks it makes a lot of sense. Maybe they have faith in Hairston, who knows.

OLB there isn't one worth the #10 pick.

I just really friggin hope they move back. They have a lot of holes to fill.
