Don't think people really knew the exact numbers even before Mario was signed, doubt we know it now.

The thing is, we had some cap room but not a ton (not like the Bucs). I have a feeling the Bills will be using tricks to stay under the cap that they don't normally use.

Since they had Meachem in town, they probably have enough to sign another decent contract. Somewhere in the range of 5 million per year.

Its up in the air, we've heard anywhere from 30 to low 20's before Mario, assume 16 of that is gone now. Still need room for rookies.

Need rookie money and also need to extend our own (Byrd, Levitre)...

Now... my question is, these players under contract such as Kevin Brock, David Clowney, Jarron Gilbert, Scott McKillop, Prince Miller, Fendi Onobun, Jay Ross, and Jake Vermiglio... do we free up space when the fat is cut from these 8th stringers?

i am sure they front loaded a ton into this years salary cap. Its probably the main reason they rolled space over from last year.

Won't even be able to guess until we see some more specific numbers.

Not nearly enough to even attempt to fill the other holes on the team, that's for sure.

25 million in signing bonus and 53 total in the first 3 years. i figured it was front loaded heavily.

That would not free up much............top 51 rule

25 mil signing bonus divided by 6 year pro-ration (4.16 million) + his base, LTBE should give us an idea in NFL cap terms. I'm assuming his cap hit this year will approach at most 8-10 million, because they need around 10 million for draft picks AND re-sign Levitre and/or Byrd and Fred. Just spit-balling though.

That $25 million could be signing bonus, guaranteed salary, roster bonus...........let's wait for a better breakdown of the deal...........it won't be long

                              Re: How much cap space...

Football fans love great goals. There are loads of things that make it exciting but, at the start of every game, everyone hopes to witness a moment of magic.

According to a league source, $24.9 million of that is fully guaranteed at the time of signing with an additional $14.5 million, that is guaranteed for injury only right now, becoming fully guaranteed on the second day of the 2013 league year.

Those figures are comprised by a $19 million signing bonus, $5.9 million base salary in 2012 and an $8 million option bonus with a $6.5 million base salary in 2013. Williams also has workout bonuses of $100,000 in 2012 and $500,000 in 2013 to bring his two-year cash payout to $40 million.
Looks like if I did my math right 9.8 Million dollar cap hit for this year.
