anyone hear him say "i told you i wanted to be done with FA by friday.. anyone see his contract, we might be done now.".

that kinda sucks.. we wont even get to take advantage of the hype around our signing. it is almost assured to get some interest from other prospective FAs.

He laughed. I still think they will sign a WR and maybe an OT.

I think if we would have signed Meachem we would be done. I expect one more starter to come out of free agency.

My best bet is a gap filling LT. There is a few old starters out there.

braylon edwards is interesting for us. he will be cheep cause of that injury that kept him out most of last year and is a taller meachem type deep threat. i truly believe its michael floyd at 10.

Even if it was true, still fine by me. One Mario = five Brad Smiths

which is actually not a bad plan right now

Maybe not a starter, but we do need OLBs in a bad way.

Even if they get a few serviceable players and look to draft a starter they could end up ok.

I don't know why they wouldn't address a bigger need at #10.

The problem last year was on the defensive side of the ball, even if they did go offense OT is a bigger need.

I know, I know, it isn't all about need, but not everyone has AJ Green or Julio Jones type rookie seasons.

To be honest I'd rather draft a WR than sign some of the guys left.

I'd still like a proven LB or OT like Winston, McNeil, or Curtis Lofton.

I think they will pick up a starter, most likely a LT. Even if that means re-signing Bell. We've already brought in a CB, and a WR which most likely would have been starters. The Bills will try to get rid of one more hole before that draft.

I don't see any way in hell we bring in Winston, unless we move him to LT, which isn't his natural position.

I feel the same way about WR's that you do, at this point I think Floyd at #10 makes a lot of sense.

I think Lofton could command a little more money than the Bills would be willing to spend at this point.

I think WR should be one of our top few picks. I'd like that much more than signing a Doucet for example. I would still go after Eddie Royal as a Parrish replacement but I'd be fine with Marquis Maze or Ryan Broyles instead of Royal.

If we don't go after a bondafide starter at LT, I'd rather go to the draft with that one too.

For WR I'd rather see them pick from the quality crop of size WRs in this class.

What was "hype" going to get us in this FA period? All the good guys are gone. This sets a precedent for the future, even summer cuts.

I would still expect a couple small signings, probably a receiver and a lineman or two.

I've been thinking that Nix will go OT at #10, and the first few days of free agency only confirm that thought.

We won't be signing any more "studs" basically is the way I take that comment.

I'd still suspect to sign some roster fillers/depth.

There's a guy named Fred Jackson that deserves some money. Wonder if Drayton steps up for that.

Everything is talking about "major". So pretty much every free agent aside from one or 2 that are left, are considered below major.

IMO bryan scott resigns for the offer that he has on the table. Nix said that they submitted an offer to him and never heard back. He will soon see that the contract (whatever it is for) is the best offer for him. He is not anything more than a oversized backup safety to 31 other teams. In buffalo he will play nickle LB with barnett and some 3rd safety in different looks. also there will be guys like braylon edwards, trevor scott, bo scaife, levi brown, kemomatu, ext. that will have to take 1 and 2 year incentive laden deals to prove their value and that is when the bills will add players. Nix pretty much made that clear when he first talked about how free agency works before its started. there will be alot of 1million 1 year (give or take alittle) guys that will be available starting next week right up till the draft. If you are one of these guys then you want to take that deal before a cheap rookie is drafted and takes the spot you could have had.

Mario is getting 25 mil. this year, we are done signing starters

jimbohastle51

Spencer johnson will make this roster, i will guarantee it. He has a reasonable price and can backup at end and tackle in the 4-3 as well as he is a steady player. Merriman will definitely make this team as well. They are paying this year on his contract regardless as it is all guaranteed and the Bills are not in the habit of paying guys to not play. He will be on the opposite end of mario in all passing situations and spencer johnson or kelsay will man the position during run downs and base formations. honestly though, at kelsay's number i think he is the cap casualty. spencer johnson is cheaper and a better athlete.

Can we worry about paying for NEW players before we worry about guys who are still under contract. Buddy said today that they haven't begun discussions with Freddy yet, but it'll be done by camp. Can everybody please stop whining about Fred now?

I could see getting rid of Johnson as he's just a guy off the bench and think Carrington could fill his void. Kelsay is arguably our 2nd best pass rusher as Merriman is a big question mark. Edwards might be expendable too if Mario is infact going to make the left side. Yet I'd hold onto him until after the draft.

For me i'd rather give future free agents (2013) for next new contract's and redo Fred Jackson contract. Plus sign here and their delph signing's too help the team delph areas. And if some players get cut I see it getting a decent free agent that fits. This here would be ideal and good enough for me.

We signed Barnett deep into FA last yr I believe. There are still holes here (WR,LT,CB) and I think we'll sign one or two more minor players
