    We're not signing a WR

He said that they have not contacted Manninghan (thank God...I did NOT want him), and that we are not in the market for a wr.

Great move, IMO. Washington. Blew up the wr market with that Garcon contract, and now mediocre wrs are getting 6-8 million per year.

Id rather draft a wr at 10 and pay way less. Last year, Gabbert (at 10) got 4 years, 12 million. Figure the contract numbers increase a little each year, and we should be paying around 3.5 million per year for our 1st pick.

Would you rather have Michael Floyd or Kendall Wright for 3.5 mil/year, or 6.5+ mil/year for Laurent Robinson or Pierre Garcon?

    I did want Meachem though...

No thanks on me after Vincent Jackson, but interested in Eddie Royal tho. For a small contract he played well one year but fell. I would look into him but anything else I would just go into draft.

The only wrs I wanted were V.Jax and Meachem. Well, I wanted Harry Douglas too, but only as a low-priced #3

Just an idea of what some WRs who were drafted 9th and 10th overall in recent years and what they did as rookies, in comparison some veterans depth guys still available as UFA:

        Michael Crabtree:
        48 catches 625 yards 2 TDs

        Tedd Ginn Jr:
        34 catches 420 yards 2 TDs

        Michael Williams:
        29 catches 350 yards 1 TD

        Reggie Williams:
        27 catches 268 yards 1 TD

Veterans UFAs and what they did in 2011:
        ======================================

        Legedu Naanee:
        44 catches 467 yards 1 TD

        Early Doucet:
        54 catches 689 yards 5 TDs

        Jerome Simpson
        50 catches 725 yards 4 TDs

        Chaz Schilens
        23 catches 271 yards 2 TDs

              Just some food for thought.
Good point, but that doesn't mean the guys this year aren't better than Laurent Robinson. Plus, Finn was a huge reach, and crabtree held out a while

I like doucet too, but not if it means we have to overpay. Id rather wait for the market to settle down and then see who's left.

no to a wr in rd 1 - they take 2 years to develop anyway and our history will rd 1 skill players isn't sterling. Sign doucet for a fair deal and an OT at #10 - Martin??

I'd like to see what Easley and especially Aiken can do as #2 WR.

all front line free agents are done for us. filling holes is the free agent business the bills will be in now. if bryan scott accepts the deal offered to him from the bills and bargain vets as well as vets that get cut. that is the type of we will look at.
