All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
"Once we signed Steve Johsnon, we felt pretty good about our receivers," Nix told host Mike Florio. "Everybody thinks we need (one). And I've said it. That's why they think it I guess, that we need a speed guy on the outside. But we've got some guys. We've got nine receivers right now that are under contract that we think can fill that role. So we're probably not in the wide receiver business."
what team is WR desperate behind us in the draft? if the BPA is WR, who do the bills call to say, "we are taking your boy at this spot, want to trade?"
theyve obviously transitioned from considering buying a wr2 in early facy to finding one on the team and with late free agency bargains
its no big deal, lots of teams have a shakey wr2 and end up filling the role by committee. the bills have good options in the slot, good pass catching backs, a te who is a threat (finally), and a dearth of possibilities at wr2 of which somebody is likely to emerge as at least a serviceable option
they made their big splash and should have a dramatically improved defense that takes pressure off the offense always having to produce. they have limited resources and really cant afford splurging at wr2 anymore
All this means is that we wont spend 7 million on Mario Manningham. We will draft a wr but not until we take a tackle. Trading down looks great cause Adams or Gleen will be there if not, were taking Reiff or Martin.
also look at the giants. they thought about trying to slide victor cruz into the practice squad last year. but they thought a team or two would try to take him.
Stevie is a 7th rounder, Colston is a 7th rounder, WR's are hard to guage and i think they are the most likely to bust out high. Unless you are getting a beast like calvin johnson, i think WR is a wasted spot unless all you need is a WR to be a great team.
bills aren't there yet. if they get this draft right, it's going to be minor tweaks and adjustments from here to make the difference between playoff team and legit contender.
