    Brandon on lease progress

Bills CEO Russ Brandon made an appearance on Bills flagship station WGR Sportsradio 550 Friday and was asked about the state of the team’s comprehensive study on stadium improvements, which are a precursor to stadium lease talks with Erie County. Here’s what Brandon had to offer.

“We’re coming down the conclusion,” said Brandon. ”We’ve had some discussions with County Executive Poloncarz and his team. We’re coming down to the conclusion by the first quarter of the year of our master plan study with Populus. We have some thoughts and ideas on how to improve the facility, and improve the experience for our great fans. In short order we’ll be spending some significant time looking at that and hopefully moving forward with it.”

I am more confident in the long term future of the Bills than at any time since the decline of our Golden Age. Ralph has shown a huge commitment to the the team and the city, fan interest is at an all-time high, and the commish has a stated interest in keeping us in WNY.

Many signs are there that there is a plan in place to keep this team where it is after Ralph departs.

I feel so good about the long term future of the team. The new CBA has made it easier for the small market to compete. The new TV contract has given all the teams a ton more money to spend. The Bills just got a new star player and will now sell tons of merchandise, jerseys and of course tickets because of that. I honestly think we are going to be back at the level from a few years ago (over 55,000 season tickets) and that's a great thing towards helping us keep the team here. Then with the stadium improvements and the new lease. It feels good to be a Bills fan finally. Now we just need to start winning games.
