Place Team Points Games Remaining
3 Florida 83 11
7 Ottawa 84 9
8 Washington 78 11
9 Winnipeg 76 11
10 Buffalo 76 10
11 Toronto 72 10
12 Tampa Bay 71 11
Washington's upcoming slate of games is downright ugly. They play Chicago (6th in West) on the road tonight then head straight to Detroit for a Monday night game at the Red Wings (4th in West). The away games keep coming when they play at the Flyers (5th in East) on Thursday. The Caps have to make another quick turnaround and return home for a game against the Jets (9th in East) on Friday. With three tough road opponents on the schedule and two sets of back-to-backs, Buffalo fans can reasonably hope Washington will drop some points this week.
The Jets' schedule for the week isn't as rigorous, but there are some tough spots. They start off easy with a home game against the Canes(13th in East) today, but spend the rest of the week on the road. They play at Pittsburgh(4th in East, 2 points out of first) on Tuesday, and the way the Penguins are going right now, that might as well be a loss. They've won 11 straight. The Jets close out the week with a tough set of back-to-back road games at Washington(8th in East) and Nashville(5th in West).
