Drafted by the Bears had I think 12 sacks his rookie season moved on to play with Mario in Hou. Revived career last year in NE in a rotational DE role and had 10 sacks in 7 games I believe.

He is a quick Edge type rusher soft against the run but will be great on our Dline in a rotation with Lights Out

I still have no problem with going DE early in the draft, second round more so than first.

On third and longs you can move Mario around, put him on a guard, line Anderson outside, and then another end outside, just like the Giants do with JPP, Tuck, Osi. They even throw Kiwi in there too at times.

More pass rushers the better, can't have enough of them.

I can see the Bills cutting Chris Kelsay now. As Marios got the Left DE spot locked up and now we've added a younger DE to man the right side. I know someone will chime in Dwan Edwards but Kelsay counts more against the cap and wasn't originally brought in by this coaching staff/GM whereas Dwan was. Of course they both could be gone if we move Spencer Johnson to backup DT/nickel DE like he did with Minnesota before arriving here. Though Spencer could be on the chopping block too.

If I'm Bell, I'm reconsidering or atleast thinking about submitting a counter proposal that might be more incentive laden on amt of games played (so the Bills FO feels more comfortable about possible injuries occurring to him again). I'm happy for Anderson that he got a decent payday. He was surprised there wasn't more interest in him when he signed with the Pats, and he took a 1-year deal to prove he was worth it. He played really well and got his payday. He is a good rusher off the edge and compliments Mario Williams well on passing downs.

Why does this 4-3 need a pass rushing LB?

In most 4-3s the LBs don't really need to be pass rushers. If a guy can bring it on a blitz, great, but that's not one of their major responsibilities.

The crazy part of all this is that before MW became a possibility, most of us would have been satisfied with just Anderson. Now we've got both! Best offseason in a long long time.

I can see the Bills cutting Chris Kelsay now. As Marios got the Left DE spot locked up and now we've added a younger DE to man the right side. I know someone will chime in Dwan Edwards but Kelsay counts more against the cap and wasn't originally brought in by this coaching staff/GM whereas Dwan was. Of course they both could be gone if we move Spencer Johnson to backup DT/nickel DE like he did with Minnesota before arriving here. Though Spencer could be on the chopping block too.

i agree. edwards can play the run well and he would be ideal to rotate with anderson on run downs vs. pass rush downs.

Wow, not only is a great (not good) DL in place, but there's actually QUALITY depth along the line. You know that someone is going to go down at some point this season and miss several games, it feels good knowing that there are suitable backups in place. There are also several guys that can play multiple positions. 'Tis a formula for success.

PLEASE don't compare who the Bills signed this year to who the Eagles signed last year. The very guy that proclaimed the Eagles "The Dream Team" was a QB that signed a Vet minimum contract trying to rescue his career.
