Despite a few potential obstacles, the Eagles will try to trade Asante Samuel before April's draft.

Last season the Lions agreed to an exchange that would send the Eagles two second-day draft picks for Samuel but the deal fall apart in the final stages, the Eagles are now trying to shop him again.

The two big problems with Samuel this season is that he is now 31 years old and he's owed a $9.4 million base salary which makes it unlikely for any team to take.

The Eagles might be forced to release Samuel.

Pass on him. Never been a fan, he gets a lot of INTs because he takes a ton of risks, he gets burnt far more than an "elite" CB should, plus with the fact that he's getting up there in age means those risks will pay off less in the future.

I don't like our corners, but I don't think he's the answer.

He needs to play in a cover 2 or in a system where he's got helpotop

Why would we want an overpriced, 31 year old Cb?

He most likely get cut and end up signing back with new England for like 4.5 mil a year.

If he gets cut, i think we could do alot worse than Aaron, Aaunte, Rogers, McGee, Florence, and McKelvin

Cuz he's better then the two overpriced 31 year old CBs we already have?

Only if he gets cut, and restructures that contract.

Worth a look if he's cut.

Trading for him would be idiotic, unless he'd agree to restructuring his contract.

Personally, I'll pass. It's hard to deny that he was/is a solid player, but for whatever reason, he's just never done it for me.

McGee: 2012 = $1.35 million, 2013 = $1.75 million
Drayton: 2012 = $4 million, 2013 = $5 million

Samuel: 2012 = $9.9 million, 2013 = $11.4 million

And whether he's still better at this point in his career is debatable. McGee can't stay healthy, but he took a pay cut, and he'll only see spot-duty this year. Who knows what will happen with Drayton.

Bottom line is that, yes, we have two 31 year old CB's who are already on the roster. But we should not be ADDING 31 year old CB's to the team. Especially ones due $20 million over the next 2 seasons.
