Well this 1 is a toss up IMO....

Its between Trent Richardson and Blackmon.........
Colt can have a WR all he wants but you need to run the ball 1st....

The Browns select Trent Richardson RB

Richardson, but I so want to say Tanneyhill.

Richardson....hes a great fit in the AFC North with his physical style.

If I were them I would try to trade down, if that is not possible:

WR - Justin Blackmon

I agree with you but with NO weapons or running game Blackmon will be covered like a blanket every game.

I agree w/ the rest of you. Clearly, its b/w Richardson and Blackmon. I agree that it is harder to find a good WR than it is RB, plus, even w/ the loss of Hillis, I feel the Browns feel confident enough about the guys they have, and they take Blackmon, then probably go RB in round 2.

The pick is Justin Blackmon.

I'm not terribly convinced that Blackmon is going to be that elite WR like AJ Green and Calvin Johnson. I think Floyd isn't that far behind Blackmon.

With that said, Cleveland will go with Blackmon anyway. They think he's their AJ Green.

Of course. That offense is in such shambles that defenses will have an easy decision on whom to target no matter what. Richardson would face stacked lines all day. That problem won't be resolved this year.

Richardson. CLE also has the #22 pick - I would think there will be a decent wr prospect there, if they choose so.

I would love for them to trade down with St Louis and take Tannehill at #6 before the Dolphins. With that being unrealistic I will go with Richardson.

Tannehill.

They have some solid young WRs but they need a QB. Tannehill fits their offensive scheme.

Picking RBs that high better have the talent of Barry Sanders. RBs are a dime a dozen.

Trent Richardson as no other offensive player available could step in and be a difference maker as quickly.

I heard somewhere that Sanders once threw a block for a teammate.

If RBs are a dime a dozen, tell that to the Browns bc they have no good ones....impact RBs are in high demand.

Okay, after thinking about it for awhile, I'll give them RB Trent Richardson. They have a much larger need at RB and he can make a diff from the start...

4th year junior...one-year starter...I'm channeling Akili Smith...Aaron Maybin...

#4 spot is pretty high for a wr IMO. At least it would (hopefully) be the end of the Cribbs wr experiment.

JMO, but were it possible to get inside the minds of BAL, PIT, CIN - my guess is that they would prefer Blackmon in the AFC North rather than Richardson. You can shut down a wr at some detriment, but if you aim to shut down a rb, you can end up elevating even mediocre receivers.

Richardson gives you inside run , outside run, blocks, good hands, if his pro performance mirrors his collegiate.

One year starter?

Hmm - CBS Sport's draft site said only one season as full-time starter:

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1695604

Any concerns that he might be of the same mental make-up as a Braylon Edwards or Kellen Winslow Jr.?

CleveSteve

That's a heck of a bench player.

That's the thing you have to think about, whether it's fair or not. I think he had a DUI as a fresh or Soph. He did occasionally lay into Weedon about getting the ball. TO used to do that. Randy Ratio used to do that. Those two are known to be knuckleheads and allegedly bad for the teams. They are also currently tied for #2 all time on the TD reception list. TO is who Blackmon reminds me most of on the field.

The only players I can find that put together that kind of collegiate career in the past four drafts are Ryan Broyles and Michael Crabtree. Crabtree has ostensibly not lived up to his billing. We have to keep that in mind when looking at Blackmon, but to what extent? It's hard to say what has caused him to flop in San Fran, and i don't think it's just Alex Smith. It's a tough question.
