Jason La Canfora ‏ @JasonLaCanfora
The Philadelphia Eagles today announced left tackle Jason Peters ruptured his Achilles tendon in his right leg on March 27. Huge blow

Jason La Canfora ‏ @JasonLaCanfora
Surgery to repair the tendon is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2. That's a long-term injury, 9-12 months. Eagles w/o star left tackle

It seems like this guy is hurt more often than he is healthy...

Whatever though, I'm just glad he's no longer our problem.

If they wanted Bell they would've resigned him, they've moved on at this point. They'd probably take him back on some cheap short deal, but they've been prepared for his departure since he turned down their initial offer(s).

The Bills did want to resign Bell...........at their price. I doubt that happens now.

That injury just sounds painful.

Had the same injury... at the time of the rupture it hurst. I went to the hospital and the guy inline before me had a broken Femur. I mentioned to the doctor how i've heard that is the worst injury. The doctore said, it's really bad and painful, but my achillies will take much longer to recover form

The Eagles draft 15th and have two 2nd-round picks. Reiff/Martin? Buffalo? Just throwing it out there ...

We are glad to have King [Dunlap] back as a part of our offensive line and we will continue to scan the free agent market, also knowing the draft is less than a month away."

If he had been in his team's facility, I wouldn't have been torn up about it. However, since it's classified a 'non-football injury' since he was on his own he doesn't get his 7.9 million salary. That stinks.

For a guy his size it may be a career ender.... Merriman is half his size, plas half the snaps, and look how well he's been able to heal from that injury

I agree that he wasn't worth what he was looking to get paid but we still haven't filled the void since he was traded

With the news that left tackle Jason Petershttp://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/roster/jason-peters/ec72d58d-b91b-49c1-a477-1caadfd31ade/) suffered a ruptured Achilles while training near his home in Texas, the Eagles are reportedly moving quickly to help firm up the offensive line. Howard Eskin has reported that the Eagles will host free agent offensive tackle Demetrius Bell for a visit this weekend (https://twitter.com/#%21/howardeskin/status/185813220949368834).

Still think Peters is a poster boy for an athlete actually working to earn a payday, not just getting a paycheck before you've proven anything, and he should've been paid. If he simply didn't want to be here and intentionally over-priced his market value that's one thing, but it was nice watching an athlete bust his ass to get better and actually accomplish it.

As stated before, no one wishes this type of thing on a person. I personally a few years ago put the injury cart next to Brady's name in my sig, and lo' and behold he was injured. Most people thought it was great but I kinda felt like a jackass.

Now... I am no Peters fan. I can list the many reasons as to why he isn't the perfect LT with all the sacks he gives up and how he needs a mobile QB to be effective, but he is also human and is also one of the most deserving as Yard said.

Here's to a steady recovery, but here's to also him not being a Bill anymore.

Well, I would never wish injury on anyone. On the other hand, worse things happen to better people than Brady & Peters every day.
