We might drop from 10 to 6-7 for Tannehill, then pull down from our 2nd round pick into a late first for our 2nd in 2013.

Ralph called for a win now scenario, move up for more first round talent & play to win.

Skooby enough already!!!! On one hand you say Ralph is trying to win now and needs 1st Round talent to play and win.... yet Tannehill won't start once the 2012 seasons starts..

We should do that. It worked great the last time when we got Whitner at 8 then traded back into the 1st round for McCargo.

Ouch, I'd knew you peg that previous scenario.

Makes no sense, we're not trading up.

BREAKING NEWS: the Bills may do one of several things. Stop making idiotic threads saying they MIGHT do something just because it crosses your mind. This is getting ridiculous and close to SPAM.

Stop posting threads about every single permutation that "might" happen.

"Guys, Bills might trade down, then trade back up, then stand pat at 10."

Moving up twice this season into the first round is not a scenario that's ever been mentioned for Buffalo, until now.

Tannehill would probably not be a part of a win now strategy. It is more likely than not for Tannehill to need some development time before he can be an effective NFL QB.

I know it sounds like a crazy thing to pick a guy that's most likely not going to help you immediately but the Bills want players right now that solidfy the team. You have to weigh in the fact that there is estate planning in place that's been happening, even though not reported (who the F-prepares a long term lease with a centurion owner?). Solidifying our biggest weaknesses now like on the D-line, the stadium lease this year & our future QB (even though that seems short-term) is huge. This might seem like changes you want to make this in the future but Ralph wants to secure the future & you make those moves when you can.

Jimbo spent several years out of the NFL while we picked up Bruce Smith & secured our defense (notice a pattern' like Bennett) but after it all came together we ended up good. I might be sharing too much but there is a precedence to go by & getting back to basics is usually a final way around things.

Please don't believe me, watch the QB headlines roll in & call me nuts. Why did you hear about Brock tonight unless there is a plan / back-up plan in place already ??

I heard a rumor today that the Bills will select a player in the draft in the first round. Also the Bills may make other selections for players in the very same draft. Just to sum it up, Buffalo might trade down, or up, or wait for it, may even draft somebody with the original pick.

Crap I misread the topic and I thought ths had some merit to it. I'm not into trading back into the 1st round again unless we really needed somebody that wouldn't be there in the 2nd.

This smells of Losman/DT #97 (what's his name again)?

McCargo.

One would like to think that after all of the most recent failures trading away draft picks (especially first-rounders) for QB's (Johnson/Bledsoe/Losman) others would eventually get the idea that most of the time it's not a good idea. For some reason, those who continue to insist on moving up or moving picks for a guy under center always believe the QB du'jour is definitely going to be 'THE guy'.

I'd rather stand pat than blow yet another opportunity and add another to the list of the 'epic fail' department.
