While Mario Williams and to a lesser extent Mark Anderson are getting all the hype and publicity as the Bills big free agent signings this offseason, it’s a much less talked about acquisition who may go a long way in not only helping the Bills this fall, but having a hand in how the entire AFC East plays out.
And he’ll never even put a helmet on.
He’s new quarterbacks coach David Lee.
Lee was hired by Chan Gailey back in January to take over for George Cortez, who left to become the new head coach of the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Sure, Lee was hired to help Ryan Fitzpatrick continue his growth in Gailey’s offense, but make no mistake – Lee was also brought in to help Gailey figure out how to take advantage of Brad Smith’s skill-set and specifically, to refine, improve upon, and aide the team in its use of the Wildcat formation.
