Boston is 1-2-1 vs the Caps.

Boston is 3-1-1 vs Buffalo.

common sense would say allow buffalo to limp into the first round minus most of their Dmen and stomp them, instead of facing an opponent you have a losing record to, except for 1 game.

No one in the NHL is going to lay down for anyone.

Boston may rest/short shift some of their better guys, as the game is meaningless to them in terms of the standings. They can't move up or down from 2.

But that doesn't mean they are going to "lay down." The guys who get extra playing time are going to want to step up and play well, particularly on national TV.

I would hope that our regulars going all-out could beat their 3rd and 4th lines, but it wouldn't be the first time a Buffalo team lost a must-win game against another team's bench.

Chara Thomas and Bergeron didnt even make the flight to Ottawa. But they will play against Buffalo they're going to use that game as a tune up game.
