Round One
1. Indianapolis - ANDREW LUCK, QB, STANFORD
2. Washington (from St. Louis) - ROBERT GRIFFIN III, QB, BAYLOR
3. Minnesota - MATT KALIL, OT, USC
4. Cleveland - RYAN TANNEHILL, QB, TEXAS A&M
5. Tampa Bay - MORRIS CLAIBORNE, CB, LSU
6. St. Louis (from Washington) - JUSTIN BLACKMON, WR, OKLAHOMA STATE
7. Jacksonville - MICHAEL FLOYD, WR, NOTRE DAME
8. Miami - QUINTON COPLES, DE, NORTH CAROLINA
9. Carolina
10. Buffalo

This is the present situation of the mock draft at www.thephins.com (http://www.thephins.com).

NO TRADES ALLOWED

Carolina pick is due in the morning and then I have the Bills pick. As you can see, Richardson is available. I believe Carolina should go DeCastro at #9 because they aren't taking Richardson with Williams, Stewart, and Tolbert

Richardson would clearly would represent BPA but doesn't fill a need for us. I would likely consider DeCastro at #10 if Carolina goes in another direction. I would likely take Kuechly if DeCastro is gone. But pass up Richardson?

Could trade Freddie to Cleveland for #22 or Detroit for #23 if this was "real world" scenario :ontome:

If trades were allowed, Richardson would be gone

NOT THE DUDE...
04-10-2012, 12:31 AM
we are not getting a 1st for freddie. maybe a 4th or 5th...

either way we would trade freddy and draft richardson.

You undervalue him...........I did not mean to imply Freddie for a #1........we would likely need to add our #2 or #3

RB F. Jackson and our #2 for a #1

I know Dareus would LOVE adding Richardson

YardRat

Richardson should've been gone at #4, or even #8 to Miami.

IMO BPA at this point would be Cox, Decastro or Ingram.

04-10-2012, 05:28 AM
Why take yet another RB in the 1st RD?

Why take a G with the #10 pick?

If we can't get Floyd, I say we try to trade the pick. If we can't, we keep stacking the defense with Keuchly, Coples, or Ingram, depending on who's available.

Could be. G Travelle Wharton walked in FA. He had 99 starts in 99 games with CAR.

clumping platelets

Tannyhill would have been the pick at #8 but Browns GM took him at #4

No trading in this mock so Richardson lasted until Jets at #16

i would have taken Richardson... i know he's not a need... but he is by far the BPA in that draft, and not a talent you can just pass on

Status at of 5 pm........I'm on the clock

Options: WR Jeffrey, WR Sanu, WR Quick, DE/LB C. Jones, LB Z. Brown, LB David, OT Massie, QB Cousins, CB T. Johnson

Who do you like?

Slim
04-12-2012, 04:13 PM
Brown is the BPA. Considering we took a Guard in round one I was be inclined to go Massie here. Jeffrey wouldn't be a bad pick either.

CleveSteve
04-12-2012, 04:18 PM
Gotta be David, Brown or Wagner. Ideal weakside LBs. My preference is for David, but you can't go wrong with any of those guys IMO.

One benefit to Wagner is he can probably play any of the 3 LB positions. Gives flexibility for future LB pick.

I'm a fan of DeCastro. Our interior OL would be beastly if Wood stays healthy.

Jeffery...hard to believe he's very high at all on Buffalo's board. I don't think they like guys with effort issues. He'd be a decent pick there.

Hey, Davis is a terrific save pick there!

If you're looking at SOLB with that other 4th, might want to read up on Kyle Wilbur. I think he'd be a good option. I like Audie Cole a lot, too... but he will probably be available in the fifth.

Are you planning on punting OT in this draft? If not, who is left there?

clumping platelets
04-19-2012, 09:10 AM
Cole was taken

I'll look at Wilbur but Carder is still available. McNutt from Iowa is still on the board so I may go with him with the 2nd 4th rd pick. Depends on who taken from #108 to the Bills pick they rec'd from ravens for Evans. Also looking at DB's but each time, the guy I wanted was taken a few picks before I drafted.

Not punting on OT...............thining about McCants from UAB or Adams from Columbia. I believe the Bills have their starters. They are looking for depth and development at OT

Obviously, not being able to trade positions in the draft creates limits. I want to take players that represent value at where they are taken that fill needs.

I REALLY like DeCastro and think he could come in and make our OT's better

CleveSteve
04-19-2012, 01:51 PM
The OLB talent starts to fade really quickly in this draft in the 5th. Good WRs can be had deep into the sixth round IMO. Especially if you're looking for a slot guy, you can find one later... Eric Page, Devon Wylie, TJ Graham, Jarius Wright... the list goes on and on. If you want a LB who can push to start, better take a look at who's available and take one now. Same with OT. JMO.

CleveSteve
04-19-2012, 04:55 PM
If you can get Chris Rainey with your second 4th-rounder, that could be worth the premium, though.
