Another Columbia Lions player worth drafting?

We selected the last Lions player drafted, Marcellus Wiley, and there is a prospect from Columbia in this years draft who whilst we'd be mad to think of using a second round pick, should be there towards the bottom of Day3 at a position who incidentally fills a need.

    Jeff Adams, Left Tackle.

    His stats are as follows:
    Height - 6ft6
    Weight - 308lbs
    40yds - 5.13 and 5.22
    Vertical - 34.5
    Broad - 9.5
    Short shuttle - 4.20
    Three Cone - 7.31
Arms - 33 and three quarters
    BP - 19

A native of Chicago, he attended Northwestern's Pro Day workout where by all accounts his performance overall was impressive. He has been described as athletic but needing to add strength but when you consider we selected Bell after he pressed 225lbs a total of 9 times at the combine and 10 times at his pro day, I'm not sure Adams could be called weak. He pressed as much as the better known Mike Adams did.

Whilst I am not suggesting he'd start in 2012, this years class beyond Kalil seems weak and maybe we might be better off going with a combination of Hairston and maybe Levitre and seeing how Adams develops. Certainly he has the smarts to be a prospect but locking him in the weights room could help.

I'd be happy to spend a 6th rounder on him

It's true that after Kalil there is no sure thing at left tackle in the draft. That means Buffalo will be drafting a tackle who is not a sure thing. This guy's measurables are pretty good, except for his bench press, which is below average. As you suggest, there are other players on the radar screen whose BP is no better. I have no way of knowing whether Buffalo will go for the more polished guy with kind of short arms, the behemoth with great measurables but not as polished, or some guy late in the draft from a non traditional power who is going to need time to get up to NFL speed (like Jeff Adams).
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

Never is - recently - Andre Smith, Eugene Monroe, Galley, and so on.

He's a bit stiff but he's got length, late round pick/FA.

'Maybe Levitre'? He absolutely blows on the outside. No thanks to that plan.

            My buddy played at Columbia.
I would like to draft him in the 7th rd.
