South Carolina DE/OLB Melvin Ingram To Visit

NFL Insider Aaron Willson of Fox Sports and Scout.com is reporting that former South Carolina defensive lineman Melvin Ingram will be in Buffalo for a visit this week. This marks the 29th visitor to the Bills in this pre-draft process that only allows 30 visitors per team.

Of those 30 visits the Bills have brought in 6 pass rushers not including Ingram. This trend shows that the Bills despite adding both Mario Williams and Mark Anderson in free agency are far from done in terms of finding ways to put pressure on the QB.

Now we are talking. I would much rather the Bills draft Ingram than Kuechly.

If Floyd is gone this is not a bad choice at all.

Just say NO to reaching for a second tier tackle.

I would still take Coples at #10 if available.

If we drafted him, we'd probably play him at DE, right? Any chance he'd play OLB in the 4-3?

A unique guy in that he's short in height (6-1) with short arms (30.5 inches) and yet he's so relentless and productive. May be a man without a position other than designated pass rusher.

I bet some have him rated high on their board with others leaving him completely off.

Well, I'm sure some teams had Sam Mills off their boards as well. Their mistake.

I can still remember back in 1981 when Chicago selected too small (5-11 230lbs) and too slow Mike Singletary in Round 2 from Baylor. I had a Sporting News recap that ripped the pick, because he didn't fit the profile.

They forget that some guys just play out of their minds and forget to read the script.

You know... funny you should ask. When I was watching him at the combine, all I could think is "man... he sure is built like a MLB."

What was it someone was saying before about potatoes and shoulders?

A big part of his production this year had to do with the attention that monster Clowney gets on the other side. He's a guy who is never going to beat a double team but, you're right, is relentless enough to beat some of the lazy tackles in the NFL and make a big mess in the backfield.

I think he's an interesting prospect as a LB, too. Doesn't have to be a LB, but could make it work.

Best fit IMO is wide-9 DE or a rush 3-4 OLB. Something where he isn't standing up off the snap with the OT's hands on him.
