The New Orleans Saints have locked up one of their best defensive players, agreeing to a three-year extension with cornerback Jabari Greer, NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche reported.
The total value of the deal is worth $23 million, according to ProFootballWeekly.com.
An unsung hero of the Saints' secondary, Greer represents one of the team's best free-agent signings in recent history. Undrafted out of Tennessee in 2004, Greer played five seasons with the Buffalo Bills before signing with the Saints prior to their Super Bowl season in 2009. He's been a standout player since, a cover corner who's started 37 or 39 games for New Orleans.
And here we are talking about trading for tackle-shy Asante Samuel or drafting CB at 10.
