I'm giving you the death sentence: I'm rooting for the Bruins to beat Washington in Game 7. My notorious sports curse will undoubtedly be your undoing.

As a Sabres fan, I should NEVER root for the Bruins. But I just can't take the bandwagon-jumping anymore. These fake ass Caps "fans" who have been "rocking the red" didn't give a **** about their team until 3 weeks ago when they officially made the playoffs. And hell, even most of the few who followed them all season didn't give a **** until they got good about 3 years ago.

The DC fans don't deserve to have their team in the playoffs. As much as it pains me to root for the Bruins, I want the Caps OUT.

and btw, **** the Sabres for choking and putting me in this mess, and **** the Caps again for making me root for the Bruins.

i am still still rooting for nashville, i really like rinne as a goalie.. and obviously good for goose. (bad for us though in terms of compensation). would love to see nashville and LA in the "western" conference final

eastern conference... i hate the sens, but hate the rags more... panthers/njd = the same really... the flyers and the winner of bruins/caps. either way still sucks buffalo blew it but.... the games for the most part have been intense

That would be perfect. Maybe then the NHL would finally learn not to put teams in warm weather cities that don't give a **** about hockey.

Because when Gaustad comes back, we'll still have an extra first round pick.

And because Rinne is unbelievable.

Soon Nashville can lose, the higher the pick will be...that is worth rooting for Nashville right there. I'll bet Gaustad won't come back. He is probably enjoying winning.

And honestly, why would we want Goose back? I liked having him here- I really did. And I know this is an oversimplification and there is more to it than this, but we played better without Goose than with him.

I thought that the Garden was pretty awesome last night. Bruins got a standing ovation after the handshake line. We knew a repeat was going to be tough. The Caps defense was flawless they earned the win.

Boston Had only 4 more points on the season than Washington... not a choke, better team won plain and simple.
Other than Seguin, the Bruins have no top notch talent on O. Semin, Backstrom, Ovie, who I hate are all better than anyone on B's. Bruins D and Goal Tending are very good, but you can only win so many 1 goal games.

Boston had 4 more points than Washington in a much tougher division, and the Bruins are deeper than the Caps.

I don't see how you can say a 2 seed losing a game 7 to a 7 seed at home isn't a choke.

Because they played well until the very end. They competed in the series.

The Bruins and the Caps set an NHL record for closest games in the playoffs. They couldn't pull it out in the end, but I would hardly consider it a choke job.

Vancouver choked. They were picked as everyone's favorite and they were knocked out in 5 games.

yeah well if the Bruins had played up to their level instead of down to the Caps' level, it never would have been that close and it wouldn't have come down to game 7.

People say nasty stuff all the time to opposing players in the NHL. We taunted the soviets & every goalie with all kinds of rants / names / slurs in Buffalo. I'm not saying that calling him names is right or justified, it's just that happens all the time & it's par for the course for these guys.

Not that I think they had too. This has nothing to do with the organization. It has more to do with the fact that Boston has 400 colleges and a few college kids are drunk idiots who hit twitter like some internet tough guys.

Classy move on the Bruins part to apologize but it really has nothing to do with them. What pisses me off is it makes all Bruins fans look bad. But anyone who actually watches this team should know there's not a whole lot to be pissed off about.

OpIv37
04-27-2012, 08:07 AM
The Bruins shouldn't have apologized because they didn't do it, and there is nothing they could have done to prevent it.

No team can control what people claiming to be their fans do on the Internet.

At most, they should have said something like "The Bruins organization strongly opposes the offensive language that a minority of our fans have been using to describe Joel Ward."

I did a project on him for my cultural diversity class last semester, so I learned a bit about him. He said it came from both on and off the ice, but he let it roll off his back and he never fought or acted violent because of it.

He also said something like he wanted to just play the game without his skin color being a big deal but he knew that wouldn't be the case which is why he had an abbreviated NHL career.
