An incredibly injury prone group. That is obviously an issue but their potential is great. Troup if healthy fills a vital rotation need, Carrington has always stepped up, Moats is a fan favorite, Easley could be great but you can't blame the man for unknown severe health problems. Wang, Calloway, and Brown were obvious failures but that's expected. If you keep these players healthy they can show you their potential then it's a B- draft, but we won't know anything until we see a healthy group.

Now that dust has settled...

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/draft.htm2010 is hard to judge because the team was in transition. Both Nix, and Gailey were not as familiar with the personnel they had back in 2010 as they did in 2011, and it was pretty evident when you compare the 2. Only 4 of the 6 prospects left from that 2010 draft class are likely to make the team in 2012.

However, judging without considering what happened on this team prior to the 2010 draft, I'd say the 2009 class was better even though the Bills missed on Maybin. Levitre, Wood, and Byrd, all starters, came from that class. The Bills have yet to benefit from a player of the 2010 class stepping up to a starting role. Spiller may turn out to be the only one when the dust clears on that 2010 draft. It gets a D from me. It could still become a C grade depending on how Troup, Carrington, and Moats do in Wannstedt's 4-3 scheme. JMO

Based on current production, it doesn't look good. However, Spiller played well after Jackson got hurt. It will be interesting to see how he's used with Jackson going forward. I'm still hopeful Troup and Easley can do something, but that would be a bonus rather than something to count on. Carrington has been ok but moving inside so not sure what to expect. Batten and Moats will be battling to make the team.

I still think modraks fingerprints are still on that draft. Nix assemebled his own team after the 2010 draft. Both his 2011 and 2012 drafts that was 100% buddy look strong

lets keep one thing in mind. Buddies 1st draft without his own Scouting personnel. He made major changes to the scouting department soon after the 2010 draft.

We were also drafting for a 3-4 D at that time

It was a weak draft looking back. I don't forsee Batten Moats, or Carrington sticking around much longer. Spiller might be the only keeper from that draft. I still have hopes for Troup if he can stay healthy

modrak

Thank you. This draft got Modrak's pink slip punched if it wasn't punched already. Nix had only just become GM and didn't have time to start from scratch so he had to go by Modrak's scouting. 2010 was Nix's draft in name only. Still, as much as we didn't like the Spiller pick, I think it will work out fine. Maybe even Easley.

No, I think he can make it. Been a fan since he was at UCF.

He hasn't had a defined role and has struggled with some injury. He has been training his ass off when healthy though. I think he can be a good 3rd DT to spell Williams / Dareus.

as of now i give it a C because i think spiller will be good for us for the next 5-7 seasons

both troup and carrington have alot to live up to

if either of them pan out to be true rotation guy ill upgrade mark to a c+

then u have easley we have no clue he could bring this up to a B if he can grab 40 balls this year

Buddy actually changed the scouting dept, fired Modrak, after the 11 draft, not 10. But the 10 group did the work up for that draft and Buddy went off their evaluations.

I still think the jury is out on many players. It may be three years since the draft but they've only played 2 seasons. Easley hasn 't played a single snap, Carrington was bounced around, same with Moats, Batten only a year, Troup was hurt most of last season.

We could end up with only 1 starter from the group, or a bunch of them come through in year 3, make or break for a lot of players this season.

Yeah I just researched this, and your right. The 2012 draft is truly the creation of Nix and his choice of staff

many of the changes were made May 2011.

Between them, they had a lot of years in the NFL. They know how to evaluate the opinions of the coaching staff.

I suppose they did what they thought best, but it happens to every FO now and then - the dice get rolled, and things don't come up as thought.

Looking at that list, the thing that stands out the most to me is that Buddy learned a lesson. Look at the schoolsl...UConn, Arkansas St., Troy, South Dakota St, etc.

Last two drafts we've been all about SEC and other power conference teams. I think in 2010 they got a little too cute with the small school guys, and figured that out quickly. Last years draft is looking good so far, and I think were going to be happy with this one in the long run.

Garbage

NOT THE DUDE...
05-02-2012, 02:38 AM
1 spiller- b, potential for a+
2 troup- incomplete- has solid b potential because of run stopping skills
3 carrington- i actually thought this was a great pick and feel potential is still there- b
4 easley- incomplete with really nice potential seen in camp..
5- wang - f
6 moats- a- finding a decent pass rushing threat this late with even more potential is big!
6- batten- b decent player for this late.. imo could be a solid backup for someone..
7- f
7-f

considering we had only 1 bust in the 5th rd in nixs first draft is not bad...

overall this draft still has a incomplete with troup/spiller and easley...

we still dont know really.

it could turn out to be average or really really good!

You're Generous.
The injuries are bad luck but you still have to grade on what they have done on the field since being here. So;

Spiller - shouldn't have been the pick for reason's we all know, but he is talented and came on strong last season. "B-" right now but I can see this grade improving.
Troup - tough luck with the injuries but didn't show much when he did play. As of now "F".
Carrington - has looked in over his head but showed improvement. Still have hope he can be a productive rotation player. " C-"
Easley - another inj tough break. It is what it is. " F". This camp is it for him. Now or never.
Moats - another in over his head. Showed pass rush glimpse's but not enough. fighting for roster spot. " C-"
Batten - same story as Moats/Carrington. Limited player athletically. Career special teamer and I don't think that career is going past this summer. "D-"
Brown - Another dumbass pick. Never had a shot. "F"
Galloway - Thought we might get lucky with this guy. Wrong. " F"

Spiller's talent saves this draft from being an "F", but not by much, "D".

Howcould I forget Wang.

The boy's wanted to be known for unearthing the first Chinese player and sticking that feather in their cap.
Wrong again.
