Sometimes the NFL Doesn't Make Sense

    Check it out:
Falcons deal with A. Samuel. Essentially they gave up a late pick in the draft and renegotiated his contract to very very fair terms.

"Asante Samuel’s deal with the Atlanta Falcons includes $4.375 million guaranteed, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

He will make $1.25 million in base salary in 2012 (guaranteed for injury), with an $875,000 roster bonus and a $2.25 million option bonus.

In 2013, he makes $3 million, with a $1.675 million roster bonus (not guaranteed). And in 2014 he makes $3.5 million with a $1.625 million roster bonus.

So, if the Falcons wanted to get out from the deal after one season, they could with minimal cap or financial difficulties."

    SEEMS LIKE A NO BRAINER.

As for his age, he could easily play a few more years. The risk is very low while the potential reward is high.
