Well, he's fast. Just ask him:

"Speed, speed, speed. That's one thing you can't teach," said Graham. "A lot of guys in the NFL can't run as fast as I can. I'm not going to out-muscle anybody, but I will out-run you. I've been catching a lot of ball, too, because they say I can't catch."

Meh. The last thing I wanted was a slightly bigger Roscoe Parrish.

Dude better be able to blow the doors off the top and open things up underneath, although he looks more like a slot guy to me.

Greg Cosell ‏ <s>@</s>gregcosell (https://twitter.com/#%21/gregcosell) Not surprised Graham went off board to Bills. Not polished at all but most vertically explosive WR in draft. Dynamic speed.

The Bills decided they needed to move up from 71st to 69th in order to select WR TJ Graham from NC State. The Bills paid the Washington Redskins their first 7th Round pick (#217) in order to move up to this spot.

Not bad size (6') and great speed.

Greg Cosell ‏ <s>@</s>gregcosell (https://twitter.com/#%21/gregcosell) Not surprised Graham went off board to Bills. Not polished at all but most vertically explosive WR in draft. Dynamic speed.
He is not 6' first of all. he is more like 5'11 (actually 5'11-3/4" to be exact). and as far as dynamic speed, with no pads at the combine he ran in the 4.4's he was not a low to mid 4.3 guy.

This was the first reach that Buddy Nix has made in my opinion for a player in his tenure as the GM of the Bills. The kid cannot get off press coverage and he doesn't even know what a route tree is.

This one has bust written all over it and its sad because instead of growing with
the times and moving up in the mid to end of the 2nd and getting a better prospect, his ways bit him in the tail and he was forced to (sort of) trade up (we all should care less about that late 7th round pick) to REACH for a player of need and i will guarantee he was not the close to the highest rated player available on their board. Not even close. I can think of 5 players off the top of my head (as i am sure you all can) that are better talents with better skill at their respective positions.

I am not mad about the pick. We needed a receiver and he is at this point as good as whats left because the well has run dry on the "depth" that was their at the receiver position. I am upset that Nix as the GM not Scout of the Buffalo Bills was not proactive and looks like an old man that didn't pull the trigger sooner.

By us even trading a 7th to move up those 2 spots Nix admitted that he got cocky and misjudged. you can almost guarantee Buffalo will be talking to more FA receivers after this draft now. Our offense did not miss a beat with D. Bell's injury and you can't put that total colossal collapse on fred jackson when spiller took of like he did. Defense know we don't have receivers that are hard to cover. They know if you cover Stevie you can shut us down. This kid will not be more than a 4th or 5th receiver and will not be able to get deep because DB's will beat him down at the line of scrimmage one on one.

One more thing, He was in a pass heavy offense and did not do crap in college. His biggest year was 40 something catches. the years before that he was a situational guy at best. the stats and playing tape do not lie. and before you go and look at the 3 or 4 highlights of him alone down field, look at the competition he was against when those plays happened. Cause none of those guys had their number 1 corner on him.

For those of you that buy into Mike Mayock (and i quote) "I had him getting drafted in the 7th round" kid can fly though."

I don't like this pick. There certainly had to have been better players still on the board in the eyes of Nix. What's so special about this kid other than speed? We traded Lee Evans because he was a one trick pony and didn't fit what we did on offense. But now we trade a pick to move up 2 spots to take this kid? What does he do besides run really fast?

I just don't get it.

Cali512
04-27-2012, 09:02 PM
If anyone actually takes the time to watch his videos, he gets open alot. If he had a QB last year that wouldnt constantly over throw him, he would have 3-5 more TDs and would be more popular. No one knows what his 40 speed was for Nix either. They run there own 40, and if this guy managed a really high time for them, or just did amazing, i can see the want. Like I said Russell Wilson was his QB from 07-10, I can see us getting him with a 4th, especially now

You're going to correct me on a quarter of an inch? NFL Network had him at 4.39 on their chart and he ran lower at his pro-day.

Since when is NC State a Spurrier pass-heavy offense as he coaches at South Carolina?

Okay? Call NFL Network and complain. That's still flying for a 6' (ZOMG 5'11" .75!) WR. I have no idea how he is as a player, just impressive size and speed combo.

Because the "so called" depth at receiver is gone. Nix waited to long to trade up and Randle and Veirs (ohio state kid) got both got taken. He hand his hand forced because there is no "playmaking receivers available now, just possession guys with marginal talent. If you read my long post above and the look at Graham's stats for the past 3 seasons. this kid wasn't even a full time starter and he went up against marginal talented corners at best.

Its cool. I didnt understand it in the beginning. But im suprised as much as i keep saying his name, no ones responded to what i said about Russell Wilson being his former QB! And his QB during the bowl game i believe! I think thats pretty big, because Wilson was someone that the bills seemed to show as much interest as Glenn. Now we have his former WR, and i saw an interview and you can see how much Graham loves Wilson!

I'm just happy that they're drafting obvious positions of need as opposed to trying to outsmart themselves. We've got the burner WR we wanted, the LT prospect we wanted, and a corner that we need with McKelvin being poor, McGee being old, and Florence better suited for the slot.

Hopefully Graham was rated low due to lack of experience and polish which can be earned/gained very quickly. He's got the things you can't teach.

I actually wish they went a little more in the BPA direction with this pick. In fairness, I've never heard of him before, but what I'm reading now isn't exactly winning me over. Liked the first two picks, guess I'll have to give the FO the benefit of the doubt here, but this one feels like reaching to get a WR just bc we needed a WR.

After watching video of Graham and seeing how fast he is my question is - Why was he rated as a 7th round pick? I do not like the video in the Cinncinati game where he went across the middle and fumbled but I love video of him catching a screen pass and blowing defenders away, amd all of the TD's on special teams are nice too.

i ereased the Spurrier it was an error on my part. He did play in a pass heavy offense and NFL network is not scouts from NFL teams. even at 6' he is short for what they wanted.

Obviously not since we moved up to get him. Could have had Sanu if they wanted size only.

His pass-heavy offense featured Sean Glennon throwing passes to him. He seems very unpolished so he probably wasn't featured much until last year, but I'm not sure.

Hopefully he has the work ethic and gets the coaching to get more fluid and polished.

He's a scouts pick. Only had 12-14 total starts and was improving as the 2011 went on.

Gailey said he can run by anybody but showed some ability to catch, turn and take off, instead of running out of bounds. 4 return TD's in college.

Runs in the 4.3's and had a 20.79 200 meters.

Can't wait to see him in camp and spare me your baseless opinions. I don't know anything about him and neither do you.
