Here's a link to my predictions for this year.
Not sure I have easily accessible proof in posts on BZ, but I've been saying for a while now that WR, CB, and OT would be our first three picks (not necessarily in that order).
Basically, based on my analysis, Nix is following his trends to a "T". The only time Nix picked an OT in the first three rounds (prior to this year) was when McNeill went in the 2nd. That was a bit of an outlier, but considering 3 total OT's were picked that year, I have to believe SD had a significant need at OT, just like we have this year. Which would explain why OT was picked so early this year as well.
For anyone sick of drafting CB's - get used to it. Nix loves first round CB's.
So what's going to happen in round 4-7? Considering the evidence, I think we'll see:
LB (2)
OT (1)
WR (1)
DB (1)
And maybe a QB late. The WR will also probably come later than the other picks.
I'm excited to see how it plays out. Still plenty of picks to fill out the roster.
