fastest 40 yd dash at combine for LB, and vertical leap

Overview

Bradham is an impressive specimen for a linebacker. Physically imposing, fast and strong, he was a feared tackler in the ACC and will bring that presence to the NFL. He did occasionally struggle to see the field at Florida State and will be something of a project, but he should at least make a significant contribution on special teams.

Analysis

Strengths

Bradham was an extremely reliable tackler as an outside linebacker. He can jolt an offensive lineman, get outside to make plays and tackle running backs. He is quick to react to the outside run and will chase it down from inside. A solid jump-and-dive tackler, he excels when pursuing the ball in the open field, though he is also good at defending the run between the tackles. He can sink his hips and fit on running backs. Additionally, he is an effective blitzer.

Weaknesses

Bradham can be slow to recognize plays and commit to defending the pass or run. He was athletic enough to recover from this hesitation at the collegiate level but will have a hard time if he can't react more quickly in the NFL.

Analysis
Positives: Fearless, relentless and fast. Covers a lot of ground on the field. Is usually around the ball. Solid tackler. Can turn and run with TEs in coverage. Can anchor despite slightly high cut build, and uses hands well to shed blocks. Dedicated hard worker on and off the field with virtually perfect durability record. Negatives: A bit high-hipped, which limits ability to anchor and turn. Not much of a pass rusher if there is not an open lane. Ball skills are just average. Takes some dumb penalties. NFL Comparison: Jacquian Williams, New York Giants --Brad Noel

He's a snot knocking LB'er who brings it every play. Instincts would be the main issue to me. But, his toughness, hitting, speed, and size make him very interesting. Wait till you see how this dude is built.

I give this pick a B.

With the 105th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills have selected OLB Nigel Bradham from FSU. Bradham is an ideal 43 OLB prospect who displays plus coverage ability.

He was a bigger hitter when he was younger, toned it down some the last couple of years.

Biggest concern with Bradham is just dealing with blocks. Similar to the issues Kuechly had with them. Difference is taking a coverage LB who may struggle with blocks in the 4th Round is a heck of a lot better than taking one at 10.

Strong pick.

I wouldn't F-with this guy or want to end up fighting him in an alley, there's footsteps entering our divisional foes subconscious minds.

Think he could challenge Morrison for a spot at OLB?

Yes he'll push the vets from Day 1. Mike will be hearing his pads pop in camp guaranteed.

This is exactly where we should have taken a 4-3 OLB that can play in coverage. He also hits like a truck.

Reminds me of a pick Pitt, Ravens, or the Chargers make that you ask yourself why didn't we draft him. Just a bad mofo that like the physical side of the game.

Except for the facts that they play different positions and Merriman is not a starter, this is a well thought out post!

I asked some FSU fans about Bradham on another message board. Their responses:

Very solid LB, almost a do it all except he can get burned in coverage sometimes

Former 5 star, hits like a truck and literally hurts people upon impact.

good LB, had some stiffness issues early on. this last half of his senior season, he has played his best football since being at FSU. you are getting someone who might be finally putting it all together.

Like said above it all came together this year and when you consider it was literally his second year of actual coaching I would like the idea of him getting even better

Good kid too, he is strong as an ox too

As a true freshman he showed up stronger than any LB we had and beat Everette Brown in a incline bench test

Did 315 like 6 times or something to Brown's less reps, forget what Brown did.

TIFWIW.

In a 43 set? Don't be so sure of that. The scheme does not fit his skill set.

And if I was better looking, hung like a horse, smarter and more athletic I would have a horny, young hot girlfriend.

But guess what?

It ain't happening.
