fastest CB in the draft also highest vertical leap of all CB's

and another SEC player

Brooks is an undersized corner who never became a starter while playing in a stacked defensive backfield at LSU. However, after spending a year as a redshirt freshman, he became an influential member of the defense. Brooks was a consummate playmaker from the nickel position, and would be attractive to teams looking for an athletic, experienced defensive back who can cover out of the slot and blitz in a zone. He isn't the most physical tackler, but he is explosive and effective rushing from the edge in all-out blitz looks. After working with top-tier talents like Patrick Peterson and Morris Claiborne, Brooks should be ready to compete in the NFL. He will likely be drafted in one of the later rounds.

Analysis

Strengths

Brooks is athletic, knows how to cover receivers out of the slot and takes full advantage of his hip mobility and flexibility. He is a quick-twitch athlete with noticeable explosiveness. He is effective in coverage and can blitz when given the chance to rush full-speed from the edge. He can make plays all over the field, whether as a nickel corner, an offbeat edge rusher, or a gunner/cover man on special teams.

Weaknesses

Brooks is a bit undersized and has very little experience as a starter, and can look lost at times. He does well when the action is directly in front of him or when he's in the gunner position, but has trouble diagnosing plays or sticking with a quick-twitch receiver.

Nix is always gushing about those LSU corners.

Bills getting alot faster during the draft.

I'm fine with the pick. You need at least five good corners on the roster in the NFL today.

They're really going for the athletic guys this year, especially late. I have no problem with that.

Solid pick. Brooks is a solid corner just was overshadowed by the honeybadger and claiborne.

This really is getting hilarious. Here are the schools we've drafted from since last year: Alabama, Texas, LSU, UNC, UNC, Clemson, MSU, USCe, Georgia, NCState, FSU, LSU.

Watching NFL network, they've actually got the LSU HC on the panel today. He twice described Brooks as 'violent' at the point of attack. This, again, I like.

With the 124th pick in the 4th Round of the 2012 NFL Draft the Buffalo Bills selected CB Ron Brooks. Brooks is a good nickel or dime cover corner who is a strong tackler, and has plenty of blitz potential off the edge.

Ironically Bradham had the fastest 40 yd time at combine and highest vertical leap for LB's

Brooks also has the fastest combine 40yd time for CB's as well as Vertical leap

Looks like another solid pick! He wont start, but he'll probably push for time in the nickel defense! :bf1:

Bye-bye Ruvell Martin. Hope you find somebody else that wants to tie up a WR spot for your 'stellar' special teams play.

Great pick. He can play in the Sub packages as well as special teams. Should contribute this year which is all you can ask from a 4th round pick.

Interesting note he has three career INT's and every one is a TD return.

Don't do any Day 3 grades. Teams spent last night and this morning re-tooling their board so everything is different. Ill give overall draft grades on Sunday.

ESPN highlighted Brooks, he looks likes a blitzing specialist. If he gets a pick, it's going for 6 points (he's a rocket).

Future Bills CB alignment assuming everybody develops;

Starter-Gilmore
Starter-Williams
Nickle/Dime-Rogers
Nickle/Dime-Brooks

That's what you call depth and talent. Nicest part is that Brooks and Rogers both can play outside if needed.

This is how I see it, they'll also have the D-line support to grow into these positions now (which is nice).

Anyone that can make plays like Neon Deon Sanders doen't have to tackle, because the ball will not be in the WRs hands, it will be in his.

If Gilmore and Brooks both play well in training camp, we might see a surprise veteran cut from our cornerbacks.

I'm thinking McGee, Florence or McKelvin.

Christ, nothing! I love it. It's just becoming so predictable as if they're turning their noses up at north ball-players (and maybe rightfully so). Best players are in the south.

They were TOP performers at their positions. neither were the overall fastest
