Right. Fitz may not be the answer long-term, but i'd rather roll with him until we have a shot at a stud, than waste a 3rd on a guy who'll never be better than a backup.

I'd look at bringing in Vince Young on a 1 yr deal to provide depth. If he causes any headaches, chop him immediately

I think developmental quarterbacks are a waste of time.

As a backup, I would much rather have a solid veteran with starting experience.

My concern at this point is an injury to Fitzpatrick, not whether we have someone to develop for the future (though that wouldn't be a bad thing to have). If Fitz gets hurt so he can't play or is totally ineffective as he was last season after he had the broken rib, who plays QB? Obviously, last season Gailey didn't have much faith in Thigpen. I don't see Brad Smith as a true backup QB regardless of how he is listed on the official roster. Will Buffalo forfeit any chance at the playoffs if Fitzpatrick gets injured because they have no one that can come in and win a game?

We might pick up a free agent in the next few days or once training camp starts. We still don't have a bonafide 3rd stringer.

If you want a franchise QB, you take him in the first round, or you don't touch one at all. That's my opinion. Developmental QB's rarely ever succeed in the NFL. We are eventually going to want a replacement for Fitzpatrick who actually has a shot at being a better QB option. But, it makes no sense wasting a draft pick on a QB whose highest achievement may never surpass holding a clipboard on gameday. The Bills have time to be patient with it, and make sure they get the right QB prospect at the right time. There is no need to rush it right now.

That wasn't much better, be more aware of your punctuation and your spelling still is off a little too.
So it should be - How about this jerk face. (no extra space after period) Go fly a kite with a lightning (not lighting) strike.
One last thing. You can't go fly a kite with a lightning strike, but you can get struck by lightning when you fly a kite.

You should at least be able to read the posts !!!!I understood it just fine. No one is perfect. We all hail from different cultures and backgrounds here. That's the beauty of the internet. Socializing with people from all walks of life should be encouraged, not corrected based on our own interpretations of what are the proper, or improper uses of the English language. But, that's my opinion.

If the UDFA signing of Aaron Corp is true then do not discount him! He beat barkley out at USC and suffered one of the most horrific leg injuries that college has seen since Willis Mcgahee's. He broke and tore 3 ligiments throughout his leg and knee. HORRIBLE injury. He fought back but played for a terrible team at Richmond. When camp gets going do not be surprised if he has the most talent (not saying knowledge of plays and running the offense, he is a rookie still) of any of the QB's on our roster. He has twice the talent Fitz had coming out and probably would have been a 2nd round pick if he would have played his last few years at USC instead of Richmond.

Why no QB was drafted (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/04/29/why-no-qb-was-drafted/)

<small>Posted by Chris Brown on <abbr title="2012-04-29T07:02:19+0000"> April 29, 2012 – 7:02 am </abbr> </small>

Bills GM Buddy Nix said he’d like to draft a quarterback every year if possible, but that didn’t happen in the 2012 NFL draft for Buffalo. He explains why, while also indicating that a fourth will be added this offseason.
“We’re going to get one in free agency,” said Nix. ”We’re going to bring in a quarterback and we think a good one. We were poised to draft one and it just wasn’t there.”
Whether Nix means a veteran free agent or an undrafted rookie was unclear, but he sounded fairly confident they had their eye on a player they felt could capably compete and in all likelihood it will be an undrafted rookie.

I think the Bills liked and were hoping to draft Cousins. No one expected Washington who had drafted RGIII to take him. After that, there was no one left worth drafting I guess. They did bring in Aaron Corp for a training camp try out to see if he can be developed but that's probably a big if. I give him less than a 5 percent chance of making the final roster. There really isn't a lot on the Free agent market. Bills could potentially seek a trade for a QB, maybe McCoy of Cleveland who is rumored to be interested in the Bills db McKelvin. Even that is an extreme long shot. JMO

Buddy said they could benefit from Mckelvim playing his heart out in his last year of contract. Then again, this could be another Lee Evans situation. Let him go and get something in return.
