A few notes:
-After our final pick we will have 79 roster spots filled, camp limit is 90 so we have 11 open spots to fill with UDFA at least. We can take more just have to cut somebody.

-Only one of our 30 official visits is left undrafted as of now. OL James Brown, Troy

Ill be tweeting via @BillsDraft, Im sure most of the insiders will have stuff. For the most part though its agents, players themselves, and that's about it.

The link above will have every signing of every team.

I wouldn't argue the second part, but... when Chan was OC with the Steelers they made it to the SB with Yancey Thigpen, Charles Johnson, and Ernie Mills. He uses so many different 3 and 4 receiver sets I don't see him thinking he needs John Taylor or Alvin Harper as a true number 2.

You pencil SJ13 and Nelson in, in any package. Then you mix and match. Theoretically Easley and Graham should be the deep guys. Hagan gives you a good mix of size, hands and is a decent route runner. Naaman is about the same, just doesn't have the type of game to be a true number 2 or 3. I can go either way on Jones, I feel like he's a dime a dozen guy. I like Clowney because he is a shiftier guy. I'd like to see them keep 6 plus Smith.

Mercyhurst safety Ian Wild ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds at his Pro Day workout, auditioning for NFL scouts at California (Pa.) and at the University of Pennsylvania.

The 6-foot, 208-pounder bench pressed 225 pounds 18 times, registering a 36 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 9-11 broad jump, a 4.10 in the 20-yard shuttle and a 6.89 iin the three-cone drill.

Wild was an all-conference selection who was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He garnered some All-American honorable-mention notice.

Does he have a gun?

Apparently he doesn't.

Negatives -- Below-average arm strength, struggles to drive the ball down field... Didn't exactly light up FCS competition, threw for 20 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 16 games over the past two years at Richmond... Struggles with his ball placement, doesn't have the accuracy to throw guys open and will miss throws he shouldn't... Threw too many interceptions, forces some throws... When pressured he loses his footwork, seems to panic... Had some really bad games, threw for one touchdown and four interceptions against UMass and one touchdown, three interceptions against Delaware... Although he's put on some weight, still a little on the thin side and has major injury questions... Suffered a season-ending knee injury during the fifth game of the 2010 season and cracked his left fibula in 2009 fall camp while at USC... Spent the past two years playing against FCS defenses, will need time to adjust to the pro game, should sit on the bench his first few years.

Look, we're both Bills fans, scro. The only difference between us is that I'm usually right.I'm sure when the Bills picked up Peters as a TE out of college that you predicted he would be a stud LT. Also, for the past three days, you've called every player from "The U" a stud. If they are all studs, why did most of them get drafted late or not at all? If "The U" was a team full of studs, why did they go 6 - 6 last year? Finally, the "scro" thing is super clever.

U picks are usually great value, which is why it would've been nice to grab some of those guys in the later rounds. But hey, if you're cool with blowing a pick on a 27 y/o guard instead of Streeter, dets cool i guess. Would've been nice to bring in some DL depth too (like Fortson) from the udfa pool, but I'm sure the 17 safties we picked up instead were better options.

If Fortson makes New England's final cut I'm going to laugh at you. Same goes for when our offense inevitably hits the skids again b/c of lack of weapons.

I'm sorry but i'm not giving in to the homer militia this year. Time to wake up, scro.

Yeah, I'm very critical of homers who try to browbeat others who have dissenting opinions, just b/c they don't have rosy things to say about the team. Bills agree to terms with 10 undrafteds

The Bills filled out their incoming class of nine draftees with 10 undrafted rookie free agents. Buffalo agreed to terms with a quarterback, running back, two offensive linemen, a linebacker, four defensive backs and a punter Monday. Here’s a thumbnail sketch of each of them along with some expert comment courtesy of the Bills scouting department.

Aaron Corp – QB – 6’3” 205 – Richmond
The Spiders quarterback was a USC transfer after a broken leg cost him the starting job with the Trojans as he was replaced by Matt Barkley. He threw for almost 2,700 yards completing almost 64 percent of his passes (63.7%) with 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions last season.

“A good player overall,” said Bills scout Tom Roth. “A good athlete. He tore his ACL in 2010 and his mobility was better late in the year this past season. A tough kid that’ll stand in the pocket and take the hit. Above average arm strength and good touch. A good field presence and command of the team with excellent intangibles and very good developmental qualities.”

More as a question of understanding, why do teams still do hand timing? It's a reliable thing for coaches to do. You can see if a player is dropping some time...injury, conditioning, just a bad day, or whatever. You don't want to level and locate lasers during practice.

A player's speed sans helmet, pads, etc., breaking one laser beam then running in a dead straight line to break another is useful in controlled climates. For drafting.

But it's more useful to time a player with a stopwatch, then do it again with full regalia, then again with jukes and jives, with experienced sets of eyeballs judging. You get to compare in practice. Player hurt? Need instruction? Dogging it?

There is always something to take into consideration regarding offensive player's speeds:

The offense owns the snap count. Ya get the jump on the D. Speed can go up if the skill player isn't covered, and it drops to the cellar if an opponent flashes an elbow from the git-go. Personally, I look for a wr with skill in breaking away from a shiver, or with a nice juke at the snap, then get separation and/or weaving to get open. Then you can use your jets.

A linemans' speed in the 40 is meaningless, unless you think your OL is going to be huffing away over more than a third of the field with some regularity. If they get ten yards upfield, it's because of nice blocking - not just by them, also usually with efforts by rbs and wrs.

More as a question of understanding, why do teams still do hand timing?

There are ways to cheat the laser. The timings stops once the laser is broken, so if you swing you arms a lot when you run your hand can hit it before you actually cross.

Another thing is that the laser has to be hand started and there is a delay (hundreths of a second-to tenths of a second) between, eyes seeing the start, finger hitting the button and laser starting.

Lastly most coaches just trust their fingers more than a laser. I have a teams copy of the official combine results and you'd be shocked to see the differences. Full tenths of seconds different.

Personally I always hand time because Im in complete control of the time. I know if I was slow or fast. I've probably timed the 40, 5-10-5, and 3 Cone a couple hundred times. I feel very confident in my timing skills and trust them because of that.

Tounkara-Kone's sure hands and precise route running will make him a valuable addition to an NFL roster.

Re: Tounkara - going to Brown does generally mean you're intelligent. Would be great if he pans out, probably worth stashing on the PS for a year if he shows something in camp.

He is very intelligent and has an incredible story. I got to talk with him for a bit at the event DB mentioned. Kid is an economics major and speaks 5 languages. He did not start playing American football until his senior year in high school and that was because he wasn't sure what it was. He finally decided he wanted to play football (soccer), and expressed his interest to his teachers. So, they sent him to the football coach. Oops. He ended up falling in love with the game.

He is from West Africa (Guinea) and his gradfather won the presidential election there when he was young. A dictator took over and imprisoned his grandfather. The family fled the country and ended up in Belgium, then other parts of Europe, and eventually in the United States.

Due to his late start, he is extremely raw, but his physical abilities are there. His arms are freakishly long and he has very good hands. He's also very agile and could have tested better had he been properly trained for testing. Hopefully they can lock him into the practice squad and develop his potential.

Hey DraftBoy,

Did Tulsa LB Curnelius Arnick sign anywhere? Not wanting Buffalo to get him, just can't seem to find any post draft info on where he might have signed, if anywhere.

Howell will be interesting because our safety depth isn't great and he is very good. He had a down senior year due to injuries but watching him as a Junior he looked like a solid Day 2 pick.

As for his new Buffalo digs, Crump said he isn’t concerned with the dramatic weather change.
“Man, I’m ready to go to Antarctica,” Crump said, laughing. “I’m willing to do whatever it takes. I think I proved that during my time at Arizona and I just want to continue on that train, with hard work and dedicating myself to my craft, and just being a real professional. At this point I’m excited about the opportunity, even though it’s not set in stone

Thanks for the input DB and Cinci.

Alex T was wearing #83 in that pic. Nice! Love that number on Bills WRs. Hope he sticks around.

There is a Providence newspaper saying he's only coming in as a try-out so there is some confusion as to his status as a UDFA signing or just a try-out.

Anyways two more try-out guys in Alabama A&M's Corey Hart and Texas Southern's Jonathan Hollins. Hart put up big numbers in the SWAC while Hollins was a transfer down from Arizona. I've seen both guys live at the HBCU Bowl, Hollins is huge, while Hart is a bit undersized.

This kid can throw a 50 yard pass accurately from his knees, he hit the goal post (basically in the middle) from the 40 yard line on a video I watched.

As was pointed out to me and Ive said on Twitter the Bills have signed/brought in for try-outs 5-6 players this offseason that I haven't seen discussed anywhere but my site.

Most notably Im referring to Alex Tounkara, Alex Tanney, and to a lesser extent Nick Clark. Im not saying they got the names from my site but it does feel good to know what Im seeing is what some teams are seeing.

Yeah and most played in the SEC.
They play a little different type of ball then you see at Monmouth and Alfred,
you guys gotta get over this small school infatuation. Modrak and his gang of diots tried that for a decade and you've seen where that got us.

What small school infatuation?

Its called not having the blinders on. I can't believe your simplistic view as to why guys go where they go. It has to do with way more than just talent.

Grades.
Number of scholarships.
Priorities at the time.
Local media exposure.
National media attention.
College scouting depts.
Etc

It isn't like the draft where you just grab what you think are the best guys and the only questions are character concerns.

Not everyone that runs in the 4.3s has a great GPA.
