You may recall they moved the kickoff line up five yards last season. Lindell actually got a fair number of touchbacks. If there's no other player that tickles your fancy at that point in the draft, a kicker certainly is an option. If you can get on that just about guarantees a touchback, that certainly takes an opportunity away from the opposing team. Can he kick field goals?

He was just above 70% in college, so not very efficiently. Buddy Nix said that he is a kickoff specialist. They may plan on trying to groom him into Lindell's successor.

He was 47/65 or 72% for his collegiate career but the most telling stats were he was 0/3 of FGs that were over 50 yards. and 10/17 on FGs from 40-49 yards (59%). In other words, kickoff specialist for now and most likely never a FG kicker unless he improves that long range accuracy.
