Just an FYI, Stevie is having surgery Tuesday to help recover from last seasons injuries. He's doing it so he can play at 100%. The surgery will have him ready for 2012 season

Why did he wait until now?

Because it creeped up again and has been bothering him and he wants it 100% for the season. Resting it wasn't enough like was thought. But it's not a concern for the season

Anytime a player goes under the knife, no matter how minor, it's cause for concern.

I understand that, I just mean its not like they expect him to miss significant time or games

lol...I don't think it'll be a big deal, but his agent is supposed to say that.

Well yeah, but if it was a big deal it would have been done long ago

all i know about groin surgery is that it can be either really simple with quick recovery or really complex with a long recovery. sound like they believe its the former

Due to the lack of WR depth, Stevie might be the most important player on the Bills this year other than Fitz. If he goes down for any length of time this team would be in big trouble.

Minor surgery is having an ingrown toe nail removed, or getting your wisdom teeth out. Other than that, I don`t know of any other minor surgeries, unless he`s getting snipped.

Why did he wait until now?

1) Stevie is a Diva and did not want the Bills to go WR in round one in fear of him losing his status, (And yes Stevie is a Diva see TD celebrations/penalties).

2) The nagging injury flared up again during the mini camp.

I would think #2...

Why did he wait until now?

You see it every year. They often hold off on possible minor surgeries in hope that rest and rehab will fix the problem. If they start working out and the issue flares up again, time for the surgery. If it's major, they'll obviously do it sooner. Pretty common, but sometimes the worst is realized - see Merriman last year. He held off on surgery all together and it didn't work out very well.

The paperwork for the guaranteed $19.5 million cleared the bank?
