I also like when the first cuts come in, and we hear how we let the gem slip through our fingers, and the guy with all of those catches at practice is going to haunt us, only to disappear into the real-estate career where he really shows his potential, and is a neighborhood legend because he tried out for the Bills once.

(too late I replied, but your rant deserved a fork, its a good discussion) ) Nice rant... but

Nix and Chan don't like them 31 years old... They are sticking with and developing their youth. Wr's usually take 2-3 seasons to develop. Steve Johnson, and David Nelson are showing that development should not be underrated either. Nelson did have 60 catches as a 2nd year player, and he wasn't the guy people were focused on during camp.

Easley is a wild card with 2 training camps to pull from, Roosevelt has shown some flashes of being a decent #4, #5 WR and possible more.

Hagan is well liked by some of our Billszone pundits as well.

So now the question is, do we want to continue building upon what we have and continue to give these guys the work and let them develop, or do we want to grab an older FA's whom are beginning their downside, provide a temporary bump up in our stock, but kick a guy off the roster who was going to develop into an equal or better player, whom may have more long term loyalty to the Bills then the FA we dragged in...

Do we have faith in Chan and his crew to develop these guys, and Nix/ Whaley to determine if these guys have what it takes, or do we want to be the team that always brings in FA's but rarely receives any long term success from them.

if the right FA is there, like Meechem, the Bills will make that move, but for a Gafney like other similar FA's that were available are just not on the Bills radar
