The big question: does he sign with an "X" or does he know how to spell his own name?

I personally love the move, his talent is undeniable, if we can get his head on straight it could be a steal.

As a backup I guess I can deal with it, problem is when he actually gets into a game...lol :)

So we swapped out Whitner and McCargo for Williams and Young.

1 year deal worth 2 mil. with another 1 mil. in playing time bonuses.

I like having a backup with a lot of experience that has won games.

My feelings exactly. He is capable of winning games, that's all you can ask for in backup QB. Not many teams have a backup QB under the age of 30 with a 32-18 record.

Honestly BC if this is true (Which, with you, it's almost 99.8% right) then I completely owe you a beer or 15.

We've missed insider info.

By the way... did we apparently have 2 of the first 3 picks on the '06 draft?

Anyone but who we have backing-up Fitz now.

Yep and we had Whitner and McCargo.

Reggie Bush is a free agent after this season too.

Welcome to Buffalo Vince. My main question... When is Thigpen cut? Can it be withing the next few hours?

I'd be shocked if he's cut before camp.

Which would make sense but we're in the process of try-outs right now, and we want young (no pun intended) talent to come in and challenge in camp. We have 2 young guys at QB, Smith is obviously not a QB, so that leaves Thigpen (sad), and now Young (good track record) at backup.

This signing if I'm not mistaken makes only ONE spot open on the 90 player roster.

VY > Pigpen. Fact.

I am all for keeping vets going into camp, if the cost makes sense. Thigpen is the exception to the rule. I don't even know the salary situation, but he is now expendable. Cut the line and grab another UDFA tomcomemin and compete for a spot.

crazy, but it's safe to say VY wasn't getting many offers.

intriguing pick up... Still hope one of our undrafted QB's can beat him out, as I would rather have a solid development project.. but VY is a great option for a safety net

He is sure to get the playing time bonus.

I like the signing. Exactly what Gailey wants in a QB but if he can get his head strait well be successfull. Tennesse he busted pretty bad, I dont think he had a chance in Philly, but Buffalo is his last chance, and Gailey will put him in the best position to be successfull i believe

If Fitz is out, Young may be just as likely as Thigpen to crash and burn, but he has waaaaaayyyyy more upside. GAIN

and he's a fantastic wildcat option. GAIN

Not many QBs could play as bad as Fitz's crash and burns the last two seasons.
