Didn't see this posted already.

Congrats to him, and very deserved. His quotes in the article, look like they sum up his true feelings, and I'd not be surprised if he wasn't watching a few more games at the Ralph over the next few years.

Next is Cookie!!

I think it should be tbh. While I never saw him play, it sounds like he was a man among boys, and if not for him, we wouldn't have won the AFL in the 60's.
From the comments from Ralph at his passing, I think there's no 'bad blood' there either, but I'm not sure Cookie would have let it happen while he was alive, sadly.

As a 2 time quitter, Saban will not be going up in Ralph's lifetime, and I can respect that, even if I may not necessarily agree with all of it.

Polian, based on his work in Buffalo, Carolina and Indianapolis, is arguably the best football "architect" of our time - or perhaps any time.

This honor is very appropriate and well deserved.

Gave us four of our best years as a team.

If Cookie had played in New York, Philly, Chicago, Dallas or LA & gotten on National TV, people would be comparing him to Jim Brown today.

He always kept a connection with the bills. He basically made the bills again with the colts. Saturday-Hall, Manning-Kelly. Never really got his RB, but made up for it with WR and TE contributing huge! Also, Reich and Metz were coaches there at one point

Could just be fluff, but most of the articles suggest that Ralph has pushed for Polian to make the wall for a few years but the voting committee didn't feel the timing was correct.

I call BS. Ralph owns the team. He has exclusive rights to the stadium. What he says goes.

The article in the Buffalo News says that Wilson would have put Polian in years ago, but the committee had issues with it in terms of him being GM/President of another team.

I don't know how the committee is set up, but I do know it votes. Wilson may have retained a right of veto on who goes up (or perhaps about who is nominated in the first place), but he doesn't have complete control. I'm not sure he wants it, either.

I think your reference should be about his daughter and sadly she's no longer alive.
