So after the Vince Young signing I got to thinking about when the last time a black quarterback played for the Bills. I couldn't think that far back.

According to Wikipedia.. the last time a black quarterback started for the Bills was in 1987 when Willie Totten started in the strike-shortened season. Interestingly, he was Jerry Rice's QB at MVSU.

Older Bills fans... am I missing anyone?

Brad Smith?

I dont think I'd count him as a QB. The Bills list him as one to take advantage of a new rule in the CBA.

Tory Woodbury was on practice squad or off season roster in like 2006

Brad Smith isn't a QB. And certainly hasn't played QB for the Bills... unless you want to count wildcat snaps.

What is it 1954? Who gives a hoot about black quarterback, white quarterback? And if you are, why is it interesting?

Briscoe started at QB for Denver but was only a WR for the Bills. A star WR on a crappy team.

Naturally, we let him go and did the same with another star WR, Ahmad Rashad 4 years later. We hated talent back then.

Doug Williams, still the only black QB to win it all.

Yup, and he played behind the hogs, had a prime Gary Clark and Art Monk, and his RB rushed for 200+ yds in that SB

Yes, it was a Trent Dilfer-ish win for Doug for sure.
