    Merriman Cleared

Got the thumbs up can't wait to join my teammates in practice tomorrow
If they can get him even just as a pass rush specialist that's 3.5 starters (Chan said today he has 3 or 4) at DE. What a difference an off-season makes!

He will want one more payday. I would expect a very good season from him.

              I'll take it.

Merriman is a bad mother shut your mouth, and the better he his...the better the Bills are. I don't even have to be cautiously optimistic, or an incorrigible *****, who says I am realistic. I don't have to hinge my existence this, and if it doesn't work out...we might all still be okay.

I would love to get a few drinks in Buddy, and let him tell you how he sees this. If the guy never played a down for us, the other things he had done as a media attraction and a recruiter have paid for his stay tenfold. Now we have other big name vets that can do the job if he doesn't make it back...

I am willing to bet that Nix hasn't spent a second of his time discussing this outside of talking to SM himself. Lookin back, it would have cost us a lot more to not have brought him in...

Does anybody know what his jersey number is going to be? That is big news too.

                      Re: Merriman Cleared

My take on Merriman. I am really hoping the surgery fixed his problem that has lingered and bothered him for years. While I am not expecting him at the same level as he was in San Diego I am hoping if he stays healthy a 8-10 sack season is realistic.

Also, I love his work ethic and how he can be the veteran leader on this defense. Every time they showed pictures on from one Bills drive in the off season (I.e. Gilmore's first visit the day after being drafted) there was always a picture of Merriman at the workout facility. Talk about leading by example.

Contract year, it's all out for a final deal (which is good for Buffalo).

Merriman provided a glimpse last year that he can still be a dominating guy. He is not all that old & if the surgery was a success, this Bills defense could be scary good for quite a while.

he was cleared when we brought him in and then cleared the field in 10 mins. So I'm not holding my breath.
