    Green, Chiefs Have High Hopes For This Season

    Trent Green senses something special in the air as he and his Chiefs teammates begin preparation for the upcoming season.


    Successful mini-camps, several key off-season transactions, and a raised comfort level in the team's offensive scheme have the Chiefs quarterback focused on returning the team to the playoffs in 2003. "That's the number one goal," Green admitted. "That's as simple as I can make it."

    Green, in his third season with the Chiefs, had his best NFL season last year. He started all 16 games for the second straight season and set career-highs with 26 touchdown passes and a quarterback rating of 92.6.

    Chiefs' Green keeps focus on daily improvement

    RIVER FALLS, Wis. - An interesting little summit takes place each day on the football fields here. At some point during every practice, quarterback Trent Green will wander over from the offensive side and meet briefly with linebacker Shawn Barber.

    The two will trade a little information, make a few motions with their hands, nod their heads and then walk back to their respective areas.
