Byrd poised for breakout season

Byrd’s season totals from 2010 showed noticeable improvement in run support and tackling. He vaulted himself from 15th on the team in tackles as a rookie to fourth the following season. The free safety doubled his tackle total from 42 to 88. He also led the team in forced fumbles with three and was tied for the lead in fumble recoveries.

Nice to see Byrd getting some recognition. Assuming the pass rush performs as advertised, Byrd could have a monster season. It would be great to get him signed before the season starts.

Yeah, I'd like to see Byrd extended before Levitre and I'd like to see it get done before the season starts. His price is only going to increase, so might as well get it done sooner than later.

If you disagree with PTI about Fitz, he automatically lumps you in with the Fitz lovers. Like you said, I've yet to see a Fitz lover on this site.

Peters may be the most overrated player in today's NFL.

Poz was a very solid player for us. Some fans think that because a guy is not all-world, he is a bum.

Sure if you think an average NFL lb is a top 100 player.

I actually agree with PTI about a lot of things about Fitz. But if you don't blast FITZ on every post, you're a lover.

I wonder where Freddy would have been if he had completed the season.

Well Maurice Jones-Drew is #15 and I think Fred Jackson would have ended up having a better season than him.

I don't really know how you put lists like these together though. It's one thing to compare players at a same position, but with positions being so different I find it hard to do an overall comparison. I mean how do you put guys like Jason Peters, Von Miller, and Jared Allen ahead of Tom Brady? None of those guys are carrying their team to a superbowl. They even have Gronkowski ahead of Brady. Does that mean the Pats would rather have Gronkowski over Brady if they had to choose?
