"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Byrd poised for breakout season
Byrd’s season totals from 2010 showed noticeable improvement in run support and tackling. He vaulted himself from 15th on the team in tackles as a rookie to fourth the following season. The free safety doubled his tackle total from 42 to 88. He also led the team in forced fumbles with three and was tied for the lead in fumble recoveries.

Nice to see Byrd getting some recognition. Assuming the pass rush performs as advertised, Byrd could have a monster season. It would be great to get him signed before the season starts.Comment

Yeah, I'd like to see Byrd extended before Levitre and I'd like to see it get done before the season starts. His price is only going to increase, so might as well get it done sooner than later.Originally posted by mayotm View PostComment
