    Troup taking day-by-day approach

Torell Troup still isn’t his normal self as an NFL defensive tackle. Coming off of back surgery not many NFL players would. But Troup, though limited, was generally pleased with what he was able to do in practice Thursday despite doing only individual position drills.

“It is going to be a day by day thing,” Troup told Buffalobills.com Contributing Correspondent Jared Kracker. ”Today I just did individual to see how I feel and tomorrow I am going to come out here and do the same thing. If I feel any better I will do more and if not I will just stay away from it. The main goal when I talk to Chan (Gailey) and I talk to Buddy (Nix) is to be ready for the season opener.”

He's in the Easley/Merriman category. It'll be nice if he comes through, but it's a good thing that the team isn't counting on him.

This is a "make or break" year for Troup. If he wants to keep playing football as a profession he needs to stay healthy and produce something, even as a spell or rotation DT. If it's another 10+ games inactive due to injuries or ineffectiveness it's time to find something else for him to do. I doubt another team would give him a look if he's injured a majority of the year again.

I feel bad for the guy, who really needs to get healthy very quickly. We can no longer afford to devote a roster spot to someone who never produces. I hope he gets well soon, or he will simply have to go.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

          He's gone.
          More trouble then he's worth.
Another terrible draft pick. The were smarter then you pick. Should have taken Cody.

Cody sucks, should've taken Gronk. Cody's the third best DT on his team. No clue why you hold him in such high regard. Living off his rep at Bama I guess.

Troup walked off the field again today, hurt himself. His playing days are probably over.

Hard not to root for him after reading this. http://wgr550.com/Bills--Troup---I-m...669?pid=255228

I liked the Troup pick, although was a little surprised with him coming in the second. Hope he can work through the back thing and overcome it, but if he can't, he can't.

His career is all but over. Another wasted draft pick.

Every team is going to have those. Not a huge deal in the long run.

in the four plays from scrimmage hes actually been healthy he looked like a reasonable rotation guy. like everybody else, i just dont know how much longer they can wait on him. buddy appears to be giving him the 'now or never' ultimatum so for his and the teams sake we can only hope his back is finally ready

He was picked to be a NT/clogger type in a 3-4, tying up the double team.

He doesn't figure at all in this 4-3 D, even if healthy. So his expected release makes sense.
