    Whaley likes personnel in camp

Bills Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel Doug Whaley says the team remains on the lookout for new talent, but he likes what he sees after one week of training camp. “From my standpoint, we’re always looking to upgrade and get better,” Whaley said. “But at this time, we’re very much settled with the competition that we brought in, and the level of play. But again we will always be looking out there. Anywhere we think we can improve, we will be on it.”
The Bills brought in veteran safety Jim Leonhard Thursday for a visit to a camp. He is an unsigned free agent who was released by the New York Jets last January, one month after undergoing surgery on a torn patella tendon.
“It was just a preliminary look-see,” Whaley said in his radio appearance. “If you look at it, we have three tremendous safeties, and some young guys. We’re just doing our due diligence. Something happens to one of the vet guys, y’know, ‘who’s out there---let’s take a look at this guy if we need him, where is he health-wise? ’”
