It's early, but this could affect that 1st game:

Jets NT Sione Pouha is receiving treatment for lower-back tightness, and coach Rex Ryan "thinks" he'll be ready for Week 1.

Uh oh. The Jets can ill afford any missed time from the linchpin of their defensive line, but for now he should expected to be ready for the regular season. He's unlikely to see any preseason snaps after signing a three-year, $15 million deal in March, however. Pouha wasn't active for last Friday's opener.

Ryan is going to try an lull our defense into thinking that whenever Tebow is in there, it's a run. Hopefully in the 2nd half, he doesn't catch our DBs cheating as a play fake could kill us deep.

Why? That's how we easily beat the Broncos last year? By containing Tebow and daring him to throw against us. I see no reason to change that strategy...

Tebow throwing under pressure against our ball hawking DB's? I'll take that all day.

They will fake a punt against us with Tebow from that punt-protect spot. Guaranteed.

If the Bills are to beat the Jets, they will have to play like they did last year against the Broncos, crash the line & get their hands on Tebow before he knows what hit him. As the Jets would say, I like our chances.

Watched NYJ@CIN on tape delay last week.

Not a lot to say - 1st preseason game. Jets' OL looked shaky - 2 sacks of Sanchez by CIN's 1st unit - they gave up 5 total. Tebow looked like...Tebow. Took off a few times, sailed passes, and a dumb int direct to a defender.

RB Joe McKnight showed speed to the outside, and good hands. Top pick DE Coples got into the backfield nicely, and registered 5 solo tackles and a sack. Good performance by the rookie.

Yeah, that int by Tebow was awful, but why did you not mention the nice completions he had, or the fact he led the Jets on a scoring drive?

Well...NYJ scored 6 points total. 2 field goals. Tebow played against who-knows-who on defense. I don't recall any especially spiffy completions.

I'm all for the guy, wish him all the luck, but from what I've watched from him at DEN and his 20 minutes or so in a 1st preseason game, I have doubts he can cut it as a starting NFL quarterback.

I certainly like him on a personal basis - but I have doubts that he will ever be an effective NFL quarterback.

??? That's not how I remember that game at all. I remember us covering all lanes and making sure we contained Tebow so that he couldn't run much on us. That forced him to throw. I think we had a few interceptions b'cse of that...

He had one nice completion that went for 12 yards on his first throw. His other three completions went for 4, 5, and 6 yards. They weren't anything special. And the scoring drive wasn't all that impressive considering they started from their own 40 and were only able to move the ball far enough to kick a long FG.

I hope Tebow plays half the game. We roughed him up in Denver last year.

That game was in Buffalo.

I hope he plays a lot though, too. The Bills make Sanchez look like Tom Brady.

He's a terrific athlete. He has a place on any teams' roster, IMO. Just not as a starting QB. People have ragged at me for talking about CIN. Well, I offer up RB/FB Brian Leonard, former high pick by STL. The young man has proven to be a fine 3rd down specialist. Tebow can do that.

I wouldn't signh
him on at starting qb $, but I wouldn't mind at all if he was on the roster
