A person familiar with the situation said Monday that the Jaguars are going to play multiple home games in London beginning in 2013.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and team owner Shad Khan want to make a formal announcement Tuesday afternoon in Jacksonville. The person said the Jaguars will play a total of four home games in London, one each year between 2013 and 2016.

Khan has made it clear he wants to play games overseas in hopes of increasing the team's brand globally. He even mentioned it during his introductory news conference last year.

The St. Louis Rams had been scheduled to play a home game in London in 2013 and 2014, but they pulled out last week, citing a need to focus on lease negotiations and ease fan discontent.

Jacksonville wasted little time scooping up the available games -- plus some.

Interesting. Going to have to work them around the bye week, and at least with the Toronto deal Bills fans in WNY (and even elsewhere) still have a reasonable opportunity to attend the game. Wonder how much revenue they are looking at over the four game deal?

Jags would need actual fans to use "fans discontent" as an excuse NOT to play in London.

I hate the Toronto game we play. Stay in flipping Buffalo!

Easily the worst fanbase in the NFL. This will be a good for thing for the franchise, and could possibly build up an international fanbase (although unlikely).

The local fans aren't an issue for the Jags, as they don't show up to home games now. This is what their fans get for not supporting the team.

The problem with the Bills is that the fans have stuck by the team, despite the fact that they sucked, and we got punished with the Toronto game anyway.

I think they are sinply showing off the new LA franchise to the international market.

Jags will be tough to move. They have about the most iron-clad stadium lease that anyone's come up with yet. It's not impossible to break, just time-consuming and expensive. If the NFL wants to move a team to LA, it's a hassle they'll have to deal with that doesn't exist for any of the other potential candidates.

The Toronto "home game" sucks.... but being overseas would even be worse!
