    Troup to IR

Feel sorry for the kid. I know he's a hard worker and it sucks for him to not be healthy enough to contribute to this team.

Well, being put on IR is better than being cut for him, he still gets paid.

I think this way no one can sign him. Bills most likely plan on eventually using him in the future.

Might as well put him on IR. I'm sure most of his rookie contract is guaranteed anyways. Actually kind of a compliment not to cut him and keep him on the books despite never really doing much of anything.

Money well spent & it's technically a cutdown towards our final 53 man roster.

this is wise. he is projected to make a full recovery, he needs more rest and who knows. give him one more shot next year. the rest should help. from past articles it seemed he was rushing it...

That or the Bills will reach an injury settlement and cut him and be done with him as NFL rules prevent teams from cutting injured players outright.

                John McCargo II.

Give him an injury settlement and move on.

I think it prolongs the inevitable for Troup. I don't think he will be a part of the Bills future.

John McCargo. Great name. Erik Flowers? Erik Flowers was Rd1 though. What a bust.

McCargo was 1st round too- we traded back in to get him late.

I'd still say Flowers was a bigger bust, though, because he was picked so much higher.

Although, now that I think about it, the McCargo characterization may be a bit unfair.

McCargo sucked and was hampered by injuries. I think Troup has some talent, but he's still hampered by injuries

I think the point is, that it doesn't really cost them anything, and it's been pretty obvious all along, that troup has the right work ethic and attitude, it's just his body letting him down. Get the body right, and he still could figure in the future. The $ are already spent, so it isn't as though they are gambling as such.
In certain respects, I like the fact that they have shown Troup some respect by putting him on IR. From what Gailey has said in the not too distant past, Troup has still been giving as much as he possibly can, and by the sounds of it, notwithstanding a rather large helping of pain to go with it.

Gronk was taken the very next pick after Troupe. It's Whitner-Ngata part two
