“No, I like high expectations,” Nix said. “I’ve never been many places where if you didn’t have ‘em, that good things happen. So I think they oughta expect a lot of us. We expect a lot out of ourselves. New England, the AFC — they don’t scare me. I think we can compete with any of ‘em, and our intention is to try to win the division.”

If the Bills swept the Pats this season.... I will have to be admitted into cardiac care.

Once again, take it with a grain of salt. I bet the Dolphins' coach would say the same thing. Even if Nix thought this was the worst team Buffalo has ever had, he wouldn't say that to the media. It's the mentality that every team should have, at least publicly.

We should be more confident than the Jets (0-2) or Dolphins (0-2) anyway.

Well, the last two years, Nix said no such thing. This is the first year he has said anything like that. I believe that is because this is the first year Nix believes it can happen.

I think Chan said the same thing last season.

I think Chan said the same thing last season.

Chan may have said he expected the Bills to compete last year. I don't remember him saying he thought the Bills could win the division. I do remember him saying the Bills had no depth last year & if they had injuries they would be in trouble.

Whats Buddy supposed to say - "Yeah, I'm scared to death?" Thankfully, if you can say nothing else, at least we have progressed from the "its hard to win in the NFL" days. Last year Chan said that going in to any game, he expects to win. He was right to say that (even if sometime he might have some reasonable doubts).

I guess that means Buddy won't be kissing Belichick's rings either.

Boring.

Davey Johnson, manager of the perennial loser Nats, laid it out on the line before the start of the season. If we don't make the playoffs, they should fire my ass.

You mean the team with the best record in the NL?

Nobody thought they would even win the division before the season began and Davey said that. Most thought maybe a sleeper WC team but still 1-2 years away.

Yep. The franchise without a winning season since it was re-born. Davey went out on a real limb.
