I'd like to see them start running the ball a little more, with 2 good RB's there should be more rushing attempts, last season the Bills finished 27th in rushing attempts, yet finished 4th in yards per attempt, that tells me run the ball more. The 2nd half of last season teams sat on the Bills short passing routes and they'll do the same this year. One way to stop that is to stretch the field, but that all depends on Fitz's ability to hit longer passes, another way is to start running the ball more, I feel safer with running the ball more than Fitz being consistent on longer passes. I know the NFL has become a passing league, but that's because of the quality of some of the QB's out there. Fitz is not Rodgers or Brees, Gailey needs to stop game planing like he is.

:gobills:, no injuries...

They've been blessed so far - one of two teams reporting no injuries this week, other than late scratches:

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/injuries

If you click on PUP/IR, you can view that. You'll see an oddity in the IR list...RB Kenny Irons, 2nd rounder by CIN in 2007.. Tore up a knee in his 1st preseason game and ended his career. Brown keeps that status for him so he qualifies for an NFL pension this year. He did the same for their #1 in '05 - LB/DE David Pollack.

Meh. He'll probably just pin his ears back on third down. He's never been a motor guy. He'll probably just dawg it a little tonight and try to stay healthy. Very similar to what players like Bruce used to do in preseason.

How Fitz didn't recognize that the OLB blitz from the wide-side wouldn't result in Stevie being wide open is beyond me.

Actually may have been a nickel corner, but still. He was jammed in tight and gave up his blitz early.

Anyone notice that no one throws at Stephon Gilmore? Guy is a stud. Aaron Williams has been great in coverage as well. Gave up that fade, but that's an impossible throw/route to defend if executed perfectly as it was.

Well, at least they finally look like a football team.

Bradham and Gilbert getting some good reps...nice sign for them.
McKelvin isn't getting cut, period.
Glenn looks pretty decent tonight.
Fitz has been Fitz.
Gilmore cramped up, according to Tasker and Bentley.
Our d-line is going to be as advertised, but when they don't get pressure all bets are off.
Screw the 'it's preseason' talk, doesn't look like either team is going too much vanilla tonight.
Spiller isn't even in the same league as Jackson. If Chan plans on trying to split the touches 50-50, it'll be a big mistake.

Isn't this game "Kids' Night" or some such?

What is bothering me is that this staff had two chances to see if Potter could hit a long FG, before they make a decision to keep him active - which is dumb, IMO, unless he can prove that he can beat out Lindells' FG performance. I don't care a lot about the EZ KOs. The runback rules have changed.

It's kids night or whatever crap that is.

I do agree that Potter should be kicking a FG or two in the preseason.

I think the position flexibility Brad Smith gives 3rd QB + 6th WR allows the team to keep a kickoff specialist on the roster though.

The alternative is we end up keeping someone like Ruvell Martin because of his special teams ability.
