IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Hope can be found here nestled between Colorado and Delaware avenues, on South Second Street.

Two bright blue buildings, flanked on both sides by poverty and depression, offer a temporary haven from the dangers that are so much a part of the community: crime, drugs, too much time with nothing to do but look for trouble.

Once a hangout for drug dealers and trouble seekers, the structures are Edgerrin James' latest contribution to his impoverished neighborhood.

"I always wanted to do something like this," the Indianapolis Colts' running back said.

James, his dreadlocks tied back on a typically warm, humid south Florida afternoon, spoke recently while standing between the two buildings. His two buildings. His helping hands to an area in need.
