July 7, 2003 -- HOW many times during Michael Irvin's playing career did ESPN report on or allude to his social misdeeds, including criminal ones? Was it 50 times, 100, more?
How many times was Irvin pointed to, on ESPN, as a good example of a bad guy on those Cowboys teams - "America's Teams" - that had brought disrepute to the franchise and, by extension, to the entire NFL? At least a lot, no?
Irvin, just a few years ago was the first Cowboy mentioned when pointing to a team gone berserk, a team that had become characterized and laid low by drug arrests, weapons charges, the physical abuse of women and even a player-financed residence for drive-up sex.
